Why would Biden need to drain a national security asset if he had record domestic oil production?

Are you suggesting we are not outputting more oil than we ever have before and outputting more oil than any nation ever has?

You were bitching about prices and we already were producing record oil. Lowered prices a bit in the summer and made us $4B in profit.

Where did I bitch about prices? Maybe when they were $4.45 a gallon?

Is that really fair? Doing something that helps people out by lowering prices is just 'buying votes?'

When you use the SPR for reasons other than what it was intended, it reeks of political motives.

What exactly is the reason for which it was intended?

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), the world's largest supply of emergency crude oil was established primarily to reduce the impact of disruptions in supplies of petroleum products and to carry out obligations of the United States under the international energy program.

"Reduce the impact of disruptions in supplies of petroleum products" means...lower prices when global supplies are cut back by increasing supply.

2022 SPR release was due to price increases caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We produce more oil today than we ever have in our history.

Further, the Biden administration released 180 million barrels but refilled 200 million barrels. The last purchase on 11/8, after the election as you note, was for 2.4 million barrels. You can do the math.

Aren’t most people opposed to forgiving the loans?
