Is there any way for him to do well without the Cowboys winning?

Just another bad coaching hire by Jones. Current OC? Not getting any change this way. Has to fix the Defense. Kid is not the Dad.

Back when he came to Florida expecting to be a backup, I remember a quote from his dad saying Brian wanted to coach, so he came to learn from the best. Spurrier.

Deon, Primetime, I thought he would jump. Looks like a discount hire. Brian good luck with Jerry!

Not completely sure, but I believe the main aspect that the Cowboys' HC needs is to realize that Jerry Jones has it all figured out and you just need to follow his lead. Methinks all the other options just weren't prepared to kiss his a_s like he demands. Shotty has history.

My recipe for success is that a Shotty team gets to the NFC Championship game but does not truly threaten a SB win.

Do they have a Super Bowl winning quarterback?

Jerry is his own GM. Been that way for a while. Explains why Dallas hasn't seen a Super Bowl in decades.

Cowboys are going to continue to suck until the Jones boys grow a pair, rise up and have pops committed to an old age home.
Jerry is kryptonite to coaching careers!

  14. The Cowboys are now the NFC East team that has longest without a conference championship appearance. Jerry Jones should consider hiring an actual GM from outside the Jones family if he wants to see a Super Bowl before he retires. I am happy for Brian Schottenheimer, but nothing about his record suggests he will be the one to get the Cowboys to the Super Bowl.

If the head coach has Jerry Jones second guessing and undermining every move…do you think they would hire Vince Lombardi?
Just pray that Schotty gets to show some of his talent. Jerry is the problem. Unless he decides to butt out, the Cowboys will never be top dog again. No true championship coach would ever work for him..AND ..they would demand a general manager that has HIS ( the new coach) vision. TWO have to be in sync..and the Owner has to stay out of all day to day business.
Jerry will not allow a coach to have that much freedom, and he, additionally, would never allow a general manager to be added to reinforce that COACH’s wishes over his own.
Never happen. THAT is the poison pill scenario that is the COWBOYS.

Dude always had great potential. I wish we were able to bring him back here in some capacity at some point in his careet, but maybe the timing was not right. Now he's moved on to bigger and (not necessarily) better things.

Been that way even before Jerry got drunk one night here in Florida and was running his mouth that he could coach the team better than Jimmy.

It doesn’t matter who the Cowboys hire as coach, as long as that pompous arrogant asshat Jerry Jones is around making the decisions, they will continue to flop. Meanwhile you look over at their rivals the Washington Commanders, who are no longer under the ownership of Daniel Snyder aka wannabe Jerry Jones. They’re now run by an ownership group that’s hands-off and lets the football people make football decisions and now they’re a game way from playing in the Super Bowl. Poetic justice indeed!

With the Commanders advancing, the longest streak without making the NFC championship belongs to: the Cowboys. "The Cowboys have appeared in 18 playoff games since 1995, none of which came in the conference title round."

And yet, they are the highest-market-value sports team in the world.
