I suspect that’s more just “racial profiling” than intentionally trying to deport Native Americans. I doubt the idiots that did that were aware of the court case. But it shows where this tom foolery can go. These clowns also nabbed some “illegal” Puerto Ricans and a U.S. military vet to boot. Racial profiling. Illegally detaining citizens. No search warrant. That’s some grade A “law and order”.
Apparently, there is some concern that it might have to do with the fact that this reservation stretches into Mexico. So even though we provide proper documentation of their citizenship, the ICE agents are simply refusing to recognize that documentation.
Actually, it looks like you are right. It was a different tribe that had this issue (Tohono O’odham Nation). This looks more just like ICE agents not liking Native Americans in terms of the Navajo.
Yeah 100% of the Navajo Nation is in the northern half of AZ and NM and a little bit in Utah. None in Colorado. But like the situation in Newark, if you're in a business or household that has an illegal alien subject to a deportation order, you're probably going to get asked for your ID when ICE shows up.
They're several Navajo Nation tribes. Tyne main Res stretches from AZ to NM. But there is also the Tohono O'Odham Reservation near Douglas in SE Arizona that goes along the border. The 14th Amendment excluded Native Americans as citizens. But the 1924 Indian Citizen Act changed this and gave then 14th Amendment protection. Not sure how ICE officials can ignore the 1924 act and try and revert back to the 1866 law. Makes no sense and clearly not legal. Using the 1866 and NA exception for Native Americans should also be a legal no go to end birthright citizenship. The Supreme Court already ruled in 1898 with Wong Kim Ark.
Man, all the congressional house keepers gonna be lit. Crazy rhetoric and actions. As crazy as creating sanctuary cities. Pendulum Politics. I am waiting for a judge to halt the program and Trump to say no.
I'll give you an honest answer (in my opinion) as soon as you explain how, in your opinion, the US economy would deal with the loss of 8-9 million workers. (Or whatever number you believe to be the accurate total.) In other words, as soon as you show that you deserve honest discourse, I'll participate in it. Won't do your silly little gotcha questions though.
I have seen a lot of speculation on this but no real proof- there are ways for them to come in with a workers visa instead of breaking our laws
Trump tries to airmail some illegal immigrants to Mexico and gets humiliated when Mexico refuses to grant landing rights to Trump's deportation aircraft. By the way, Trump is deporting immigrants in C-17 aircrafts, which operate at a cost of $20,000 per hour, to transport 80 people at a time. With a minimum of 4 hours to get them from a place like L.A. to Mexico City, that's a minimum of $160k round trip, divided by 80 equals $2000 per person. Not very cost effective, now is it? Shouldn't he just fly them business class on commercial aircraft? It might be cheaper? That Trump sure knows how to spend money like a drunken democrat, doesn't he? This is almost as embarrassing as telling everyone that Mexico will pay for the border wall, and then watching Mexico extend its middle finger as Trump makes YOU pay for his 2.5% border fence. For those of you who are keeping track, that's MEXICO 2 . . . TRUMP 0 Mexico refuses to accept a U.S. deportation flight https://comptroller.defense.gov/Portals/45/documents/rates/fy2024/2024_b_c.pdf
What Visa, specifically? H2-A? Is the goal to massively increase the administrative burden on every business?
Mexico refuses to accept a U.S. deportation flight Mexico denied a U.S. military plane access to land Thursday, at least temporarily frustrating the Trump administration's plans to deport immigrants to the country, according to two U.S. defense officials and a third person familiar with the situation.
I don't know the ans. but, Colo uses a lot of legal worker programs. Our ski areas legally employ tons of foreign workers. &, pretty much everything harvested in the Palisade Valley is done by guest workers.
I posted the same article as you two posts up from yours, but it is under management review because it might hurt Mr. Trump's feelings . . .
