Although it's been dismissed as a conspiracy theory it's been suggested that the business plan of big pharma is not to develop cures for diseases including cancer but to treat them as chronic conditions that require ongoing treatment. I don't know whether that's true or not but it is logical.

This is the only thread I have started and the hope was to keep politics out and just report on cool things in the news. Please keep the TDS to other threads.

Are you trying to say that you wouldn't think highly of someone who knew nothing about a story you may post......... but if they dislike that story, just shouted out "FAKE NEWS!!!" and considered it false?

Your sudden, if selective, appreciation for the news and (at least occasionally) reality is noted and appreciated. But certainly you must see the irony. And hypocrisy.

I anticipate its roi. Takes substantial investment for cures but limited payout. It’s where gov and university research need to step in.

The U.S. Discovers a Groundbreaking Material That Could Replace Copper in Electronics, Slashing Energy Costs

Researchers at Stanford University have just made a discovery that could shatter the foundations of the electronics industry. Niobium phosphide, a little-known material, has proven itself superior to copper at the nanoscale. This breakthrough could mark the beginning of the end for copper and the dawn of a new era in electronics.

    +

The Stanford team has found that niobium phosphide can outperform copper in ultra-thin films of less than 5 nanometers. Unlike copper, which loses efficiency as it shrinks, this material maintains its high conductivity.

    The implications are enormous:

・Extreme efficiency at the nanoscale – It works where copper fails.

・Less heat, more reliability – Devices stay cooler, reducing risks of overheating and extending lifespan.

・Easier to manufacture – Unlike exotic alternatives, niobium phosphide integrates seamlessly with existing silicon-based chip manufacturing.

Yep, saw this the other day. Ironically, we recently ate at that one restaurant in st pete serving fresh gulf shrimp.

Disappointing, but not surprised. Kind of sad that Louisiana and Bama are at least attempting to address the issue while Fla hasnt. When it comes to seafood I always ask is it wild or farm raised and hope the server is honest. Old issue with red snapper and other fish species. Love seafood but there are very few restaurants I will order from anymore.
