Covidians were outraged when people went outside the narrative to get drugs the Man on TV didn’t approve. Mass-derangement.
The very first line of this study which I assume you didn’t read: Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) has proved ineffective in treating patients hospitalised with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) This studied it as a prophylactic, not as a treatment. If you read it’s basically “eh, better than nothing” as a prophylactic but isn’t endorsing its widespread use. It suggests it as ammo against a hypothetical future pandemic. I view that claim as irresponsible considering there is no way to transfer these results to a different disease (for example; any doctor would recommend flu vaccine as the 1st line against increased influenza activity and only a quack would suggest HCQ as the first line considering the existence of a vaccine). This study did show some results for prophylaxis use during that 2020 period before vaccinations and other treatments made the entire discussion on HCQ moot. But I don’t think “better than nothing” is the threshold. Same argument for/against Ivermectin.
I will say this in defense of my Ivermectinists: It’s not killing people by the truckloads like vaccines are.
Can it be beneficial in treatment of Covid 19? Say we get it to someone early? A persons condition will always be one of the factors in what drugs may or may not work. The reality is HCQ actually was marginally beneficial as a therapeutic if taken early. And it is cheap. Yet I am sure you were slamming it because the media told you to. Big Pharma appreciates you!
I shared in another thread weeks ago, but no vaccines do a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. They have immunity, so they do not need to. Medications do not have immunity. They spend years and millions making sure the medication is safe.
Roughly 1,250 previously approved medications are called each year. But don’t ask questions about vaccines.
