Either way, if this were Obama the Right Wing Nuttery would be at defcon 5. Since he is Trump, Christians have no issues. Right? Instead of placing his hand on the Bibles, Trump stood with his left arm down by his side as he raised his right hand for the oath of office.
Looks like he has bludgeoned himself. I mean, it is an easy act. There are two steps. Raise your right hand and place your left hand on the Bible. He must not have been able to pull those two steps off flawlessly. I dont blame him. When I get to be his age stuff like that might get me too. We'll find out in about half a century.

Maybe Trump is actually a believer and didn't want to swear on the Bible knowing that there was no way he would comply with the oath in its entirety specifically promising to preserve and defend the Constitution. In less than 24 hours he demonstrated that he had no respect for the Constitution considering his mass pardons of persons convicted of attempting to prevent the Constitutionally mandated peaceful transfer of power and his EO the principle of birthright citizenship enshrined in the 14th Amendment and there are or will be dozens of more examples. FYI this is the oath to which Trump was swearing to uphold: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

I hate to defend the orange guy, but swearing on the Bible is actually UNbiblical. Jesus' own words in Matthew 5: But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.
