I don't even want to talk about it, but TG with allegations as well now.

Since the university is prohibited from commenting on or even acknowledging this, the public report must be coming from the accuser or their attorney. Why? I don't see a benefit within the litigation from going public, but perhaps I'm missing it. This might be a) a legit cultural issue, b) a symptom of the "new normal" wrt similar allegations or something in between. So what's next, body cams for coaches and celebs? o_O

I locked this thread until something was said. Since Coach Golden addressed it at today's press conference, somewhat, I'll post what was said and that can be discussed, I guess. No speculations/rumors please. Thanks.

This is part of what Coach Golden said:

“I want to start by making a statement about the news that I’m sure everyone has read on Coach Green last night. I simply want to say that I support my staff, and I would suggest people do not rush to judgment based off a headline. For me, I am just frustrated and disappointed that a Title IX mechanism that is created to protect both sides during a situation like this — that confidentiality and privacy continues to be abused. So, as frustrating and as disappointing and as hard as it is to do, I am going to do what I think I need to do and continue to respect the process, as I have. As always, I will continue to respect and appreciate the support for my family and our program at this time.”

“I don’t like it, but perception is perception. It is not reality,” Golden said. “I am in this program every day. I see how our staff acts. I see how our players act. I am proud of what we’ve done since we’ve got here. And that’s all I can do is keep my head up and keep working.”

What a mess. True or not, bad look for the program. I thought the TG Title IX one was completed.

Woman who falsely accused Duke lacrosse players of rape in 2006 publicly admits to lying
Everyone remembers the Duke Lacrosse allegations. But I wonder how many know the woman who accused them admitted last month that it was all a lie.

VERY different accusations, but my point is it’s pointless to make any predictions or point any fingers until the FACTS are out. Innocent until proven guilty, even when the media and public pretend to know a hell of a lot more than they actually do.

    zero point in speculating

Probably comes down to “she said…he said.” I don’t know how you resolve it.

You resolve it the way these are always handled. When I was an administrator I was told that there was a complaint about a student or faculty member in my department and was interviewed. When the process was done I was informed of the results, although those were subject to appeal. The people actually conducting these investigations aren’t amateurs.

How many cases were you involved in? How many complaints had merit?

I know this is speculation, but, are there anymore people associated with our men's basketball program with the initials TG?

Interesting to me that the ESPN reporter seems to be sniffing around the potential angle of whether the complainants against Golden are/were UF students, and how that would affect a Title IX complaint.

Unnerving and often scary sci-fi series on Netflix based mostly on stuff happening now or near future. Definitely worth watching.

Weird show, every episode is different. One episode, the people’s memories are all recorded and can be reviewed at any time. If you commit or even plot a crime, the police just play your memories on the big screen. Anything you see or say is recorded.

3 or 4 over 20 years. They all had some merit. In one case there were multiple witnesses to the incident.

UAA really doesn’t like Todd Golden and they are pulling out all the stops. Sad.

I must be missing something. The UAA has nothing to do with any of this as far as I am aware. What are they doing that you meant by "pulling out all the stops" to hurt Coach Golden?
