Bizarre indeed. So many ifs and whats. Still loving the fight.

The lack of a closer is no surprise. It needs to be worked out, probably between Clayton and Martin.

it's likely most coaches would have Urban or Denzel starting even if it means taking a lot of lumps.

Clayton is the better offensive threat and free-thrower, so he still needs the ball in his hands. Just needs to have some tendencies like the best quarterbacks, being able to read a defense and check through the options in a flash.
I'm still not sold on Denzel as a starter. He tends to waste valuable seconds in every possession and is not a natural scorer, nor a particularly good ballhandler or passer. Good defender, though. Would love to see Urban get some minutes but it's unlikely in the thick of a tense SEC battle. We had plenty of opportunities to season him against the weaker schedule and didn't do it much. We beat UT by 30 and he didn't even see the floor. That would have been a GREAT opportunity for him to measure himself against a great defense. Sigh.

We lost and Mizzou played well especially Grill shooting lights out in the first half.

Mizzou played some dirty D but got called on two of the three really bad ones resulting in two free throws and the ball and on one an ejection as well. Clayton also took a nut shot that wasn't called. They reminded me of the George Masson team in 2006.

The one on Clayton seemed more incidental than intentional.
