Blinkin gave an interview to the NYTimes that said any time they were close to a deal, Hamas would pull back at the last minute anytime they saw there was pressure on Israel. Would have to assume Trump's stated position of the hostages being returned before Jan 20th or there would be Hell to pay probably helped Hamas believe they were running out of time and had to cross the finish line on a deal.
