Does the failed sweep at the goal line become Texas‘s fourth and dumb?

Edit: my bad, it wasn’t fourth down. :D

Not a surprise. I don’t expect it to be close. I hope I am wrong.

Ewers does anything but THAT on 4th down and TX still has a legit shot. OSU backed up deep, plenty of time and 2 TO. Would just need a stop. ZERO awareness.
The 2nd down call sucked too.

Sark’s play calling at the end of the game reminded me of UF’s OT series vs UT..

I would either power in, or call a misdirection/counter. But going outside is ill-advised against a talented team like OSU. Heck, even a pass play is better than the sweep. The fade... that SOS was so dang good at.

Between the screen pass TD at the end of the first half and the scoop and score after 1st and goal at the 1, Texas isnt going to be sleeping well for a while. They have to feel like they gave that game away even though OSU was better most of the night.

I had a few units on OSU -6 bc I didn't think this game would be close. Was really impressed with the Texas defense tonight. Very lucky to cash in that bet tonight.

Texas could be very good next year too if Arch is the real deal.

Not quite as bad a call in my view.

I give OSU credit on their go ahead drive; they gashed Texas on that QB run and had Texas off balance and made the plays to win. They didn’t jive around at the goal line, just powered it in. Texas came back down the field quickly and then kind of self destructed with idiotic calls.

I guarantee you he hates us. He lost back to back BCS championship games and now look who he has to beat to win one.

ND is deceptively fast and well coached. I can’t root for Ohia State ever in any sport.

Overall, the best team won. And that is okay with me.

Now, what went wrong? IMO, Sark and Napier have some similar DNA. Ewers is a decent QB but he has/had some holes in his game. THE story of the game was that OSU pulled a "SEC" on UTx in that their D-line dominated the game. One of the things I noticed throughout the playoffs (and the SECC) is that Manning never got into the game. He is NOT a true freshman and they have some wrinkles when he gets in. Lagway is similar but a true freshman and so the "wrinkles" did not manifest and so...down goes Napier. His call and his downfall.

But then, Mertz gets hurt and somehow Napier has to adjust to what Lagway brings. And then, the rest is history. At least the rest of the season and the beginning of the next. Sark seems to have had too much tunnel vision and never HAD to use Manning. And then he got into the play(s) that define a great game and your program. And he is still on the outside looking in.

Can't complain about how the playoffs have gotten to the end. The SEC needs to figure out the new realities.

All of that is true, but OSU did benefit from an obvious no holding call during that go-ahead drive. Even Herbie thought it should have been called.

He’s the absolute worst when it comes to OSU games. I wouldn’t be worth a damn broadcasting Gator games. The problem isn’t Herbie - it’s BSPN for repeatedly creating this situation
