If the POTUS was not able to make a decision and it was delegated to primary staff, that is a serious issue.

Because this thread is specifically about Biden's mental state. Not Trump's. That has been repeated multiple times on this thread, yet you decided to bring up Trump's in your post. Hence the rating.

    Vax-
So if I had just stated that today Biden competently gave a 10 minute reading, from notes with no prompter, in front of hundreds of people, we're good?
And he was as competent as other speakers there?

Okay, we'll do it your way for now. Critique (bash) only one president at a time. It all changes on Jan 20, when discussions of cognitive decline can focus on the next guy.

I didn’t watch the funeral now can’t give an opinion on how Biden did reading off his notes compared to other speakers.

Aging - tired faster, some forgetfulness.

Cognitive decline - living in a fantasy world where Donald Trump thinks he is 215lbs, that tariffs are paid by China, that the 2020 election was stolen. That is cognitive decline.

Your OP is fiddling a tune while Rome burns. I remember a really good speech that Biden gave in Canada and said China instead of Canada and immediately corrected it and all Fox ran with was the sentence clipped with China. Folks like you watched it and thought Biden was a goner. Now folks like you watch Donald Trump speak loud nonsense and think he’s the pillar of mental strength compared to Biden. It’s insane. You should have started a thread on Trump’s mental decline.

    In my head--- UF

Why wouldn’t a candidate shake hands and met 1000s of people during COVID?

Then go start a thread asking the same question about what you think is an obvious mental decline for Trump. I'm happy to discuss that topic on that thread.

Most people think it is very clear that Biden is showing serious signs of a cognitive decline, yet there are still people that deny it and chalk it up to a stutter and/or being aging. The WSJ just had a story about how Biden staffers had to postpone getting a decision out of Biden because he was having one of his "bad days."

If the president was having an off day, meetings could be scrapped altogether. On one such occasion, in the spring of 2021, a national security official explained to another aide why a meeting needed to be rescheduled. “He has good days and bad days, and today was a bad day so we’re going to address this tomorrow,” the former aide recalled the official saying.

    Update from The Bee!!

Awkward: Mourners At Jimmy Carter Funeral Place Flowers On Biden | Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The solemnity of former President Jimmy Carter's funeral was slightly marred earlier this morning when a few confused mourners accidentally placed flowers on Biden.

According to eyewitnesses, the mistaken mourners seem to have confused the dead former president with the unmoving, unblinking, statuesque Biden.

"There had been a line going up at the Cathedral to put flowers on Jimmy," said Vivian Glecker, a White House staffer. "And a few of the people in line accidentally stopped to start laying flowers on Biden instead. One of them even tried to close his eyes. It got really awkward after they split up into two lines, with one going to each president to pay their respects. It was touching, I guess, though it took Secret Service kind of a while to sort things out."

Reports from the Washington Cathedral state that the misunderstanding was eventually corrected, though Jill Biden had to be rescued from a partial avalanche of roses that had spilled over from the pile mounting atop Biden.

I said 2 years. I don’t really know. I expect it was a steady thing during all 4.

I don’t really think the decline affected his effectiveness in terms of policy implantation. I do think it hurt politically because they tried to hide him and he couldn’t communicate and thus made him a poor candidate for 2024, and by the time everybody else realized how bad it gotten it was too late to find the best replacement.

And once again the Babylon Bee demonstrated that its attempt at being a right-wing version of the Onion failed.

Why not? Not the least bit curious?
So funny. You won't view the event I reference (it might make you temper your opinion a bit if you're honest) - so that you can keep spouting about Biden's cognitive decline.

Okay. Fair is fair. Expect the same treatment for the next guy. Just don't whine about it later.

I didn’t watch the funeral. Didn’t consider it must-see tv. It was on at 10am. I had other things to do.
