    Celebrating 10 years of coverage after launching as a full-service college baseball site in 2015, D1Baseball unveiled its "best of the decade" on Wednesday. Included in the staff picks were votes for the best team, player, pitcher, coach and program of the last 10 years. Florida ran away with each of the latter two categories, defeating Vanderbilt as the best program of the decade by a seven-to-one tally. Aaron Fitt, Kendall Rogers and Mark Etheridge each selected O'Sullivan as the top head coach of the last 10 years while no other skipper earned more than one vote.

    Florida has reached the College World Series in nine of the last 14 postseasons, which includes six Omaha trips in the last decade alone (no postseason in 2020). No other program in the country is close to those numbers.

    In the last 10 years, the Gators have hosted eight Regionals while claiming one National Championship (2017), one National Runner-Up finish (2023) and four appearances in the CWS final four. Under O'Sullivan, Florida has evolved into the premier program in all of college baseball.

    Given some posts here every season, clearly, you have a lot of company. I'm one of many who wish we would win the CWS every year, but unlike some others, I realize that won't happen. There are other programs- most SEC- including LSU, Vandy, SC- that have won more championships than Gators, but only Gators have been so consistent during Sully's tenure. A frontrunner is a person who chooses a team that is a top winner and expects that team to always win or be harshly criticized. As a blind (rhetorically speaking) optimist, I do my best to ignore the posts, mainly gripes, from frontrunners, mainly because my team does so well and makes me so happy.

    Would never defend vandy, theyve under achieved considering IMO, but they do have 2 titles & 2nds in that time. If thats the criteria the kids at d1 are using

    Good news is vandy will be joining their other programs in very near future. Like they were pre 11.7 era

    I always felt the entire Vandy sports program could be compared to a cockroach: ugly, nasty, never actually accomplished anything, but at odd times, was just good enough to screw up the lives of other. In spite of all that, they still got a full share of SEC bowl and other revenue. They had a few good basketball seasons, but nothing to envy. Finally, they hired Corbin as bsb coach who produced some of the best baseball in the country. Of course a baseball team can be top ten in the country, but not top 5 in the SEC. When Corbin leaves, Vandy may well go back to being bottom feeders.

    I got nothing personal against Corbin, but I give him very little credit. More the 30 full scholarship( paid players) on roster last 20 years. Most now in mlb...lol

    He was right time , right place hire.. He was 30+ games under .500 at Presbyterian, who Im guessing had same roster limits as rest of the Big South conferece.

    I also dont recall any other vandy sport last 40 years winning anythng of relevance. unless were coounting W bowling. CM Newton(best MBB HC they ever had) only had couple trips to tourney.

    Still baffled they didnt add softball, and do same thing baseball did. Stack roster.
