By: Nick Marcinko -- January 7, 2024 It was a historic night in Gainesville as No.8 Florida crushed No.1 Tennessee 73-43 inside the O’Connell Center on Tuesday night, delivering the Volunteers their first loss of the 2024/25 season. The victory marked Florida’s first ever home win against the No.1 ranked team (previously 0-5 in program history). The Gators also extended their home winning streak to 16 games. Florida’s 30-point win was the most lopsided win vs a No.1 ranked team since UCLA beat Houston 101-69 in the 1968 final four, according to Josh Dubow of the AP.
