Wow, that article is pretty intellectually dishonest. They shift back and forth on metrics to draw inaccurate pictures that lack context. For example, they spend the first part of the article comparing unemployment rates now to unemployment rates in January 2023 for some reason. Then, they shift away from talking about unemployment rates when discussing foreign-born vs. US-born workers. Why do you think they did that? Is it because the unemployment rate for US-born workers is at 3.8%, which is full employment? I suspect that it is.

That is some funny writing that assumes the readers are unable (unwilling?) to think. He writes “There are actually fewer native-born Americans working today than there were before the pandemic in 2019” as if that is an output. That fact is an input which is why we need immigration in a big way in this country. The workforce is shrinking as it ages with a low replacement birth rate. The only reason we are a strong economy is immigrants. The only reason.

Biden will hand his successor a lower unemployment rate than he inherited, as just about every democratic president has done since WW2.
Of course, Trump handed his successor a higher unemployment rate than he inherited, as did almost every Republican president.

Well sure, but if you simply ignore the last year under the Republican President and the first two years under the Democratic President, then how does the picture look? Checkmate, libs!

If the immigrants are here on a H-1B, then it is not a problem. If they are here illegally they have broken the law and have to be shown the door. The people who are employing them under the table are also breaking the law and also have to pay the price as well.

Which requires immigration legislation. Republicans want to demonize immigrants that we need for votes. They don’t want to legalize immigration we need for economic growth.

Interesting. So do we get to ignore the inflation from those years too, or just the employment gains?

Since we know that Trump has employed illegals in the past how much time do you think he should serve in prison?

Applying for Asylum has always been legal. You refuse to acknowledge that which show that you just want brown people out. You could care less if they are legal Asylum applicants.

The vast majority of immigrants without visas filed for asylum. Given that is legal, why are you referring to them as "illegal?" Reminds me of when Trump and Vance referred to Haitians with TPS as "illegal." Why do you suppose they did that, given that TPS means that they currently have legal status in the country?

By the way this is the umpteenth thread on immigration this “mod”, quotes on purpose, has started that could fit under any number of threads he already started. This site is becoming an authoritarian regime with some posters more equal than other posters.

Okay. Do we determine factual accuracy by poll?

Total logic fail. I expect more from a thinking adult. Poster 100% equates economy with election results as if there are no other moving relevant parts to it. 5th grade logic at best. Sad.
