Which sounds bush league to me. If I’m Bielema I’m “giving Beamer the business” too. Sounds like both are tools

It may have been a taunt, but Bielema was giving the "sideline warning" signal, suggesting that Beamer (& perhaps staff) shouldn't have been out on the field at that moment. Bielema had a player banged up & the SC team didn't need to interfere.

Maybe, but those are all good teams and I think IU was legit. Sagarin has them #9 and the Gators #13.

Didn't see the arm across chest (illegal sub). Maybe he did that too, but he def was giving the sideline warning signal.

Or, he could run straight through him - cause we know Neion is afraid to tackle anyone.

Best pure cover corner ever more than likely.

You are right, I stand corrected.
But the point remains it was clearly taunting, which is against the rules and should draw a flag.
It was a bush league move from apparently a bush league individual.

Beamer didn’t deserve to be taunted, but 100% agree Beamer was being outfoxed and strangely wouldn’t adjust.
And I have no problem with Bielema outfoxing him. That was smart.

I mean Bielema knew the refs weren’t going to do anything, so why not.

IMO that officiating crew should be canned. They completely let it get out of hand.

I didn't see the game but from what I've read, the gesture was in reference to a kick return by USCe. Seems like Beamer's kick return team took advantage of one of those unwritten rules, returning a kick after signaling for a "no-return".

Bielema said the T-bar is part of an "unwritten philosophy in coaching," meant to signal a fair catch/touchback on a kickoff to the opposing coverage team. Moments before the on-field altercation, South Carolina made the T-bar signal and proceeded to lateral the ball, leading to a 25-yard return by Nyck Harbor. Bielema said he first learned about the T-bar signal while coaching in the NFL, as a way of limiting the risk of injury on kickoffs.

"There's nothing illegal, they didn't do anything illegal, but it put us in a position that the ethic of what that is got evaporated, because our kids stopped [running]," Bielema said.

"I just wanted them to understand that I know what just happened," Bielema said. "There's nothing illegal, there's nothing wrong. I just have never seen it done in any level of college football."

Beamer defended the play, saying that he informed the officiating crew before the game that South Carolina intended to use the lateral after the T-bar signal, and got clearance from them. He acknowledged that most teams use the signal as a touchback indicator.

Beamer, Bielema continue feud on social media

Kind of a bush league move by Beamer if that signal is frequently used to indicate no plan to return.

Bielma probably does have more than one since he looked like an ass more than once in the game. The half ass belongs to the sow.

Right. I was not watching the game close enough before the taunting and relied on the broadcast crew to frame this.
I haven't re-watched but I believe they framed it as taunting Beamer because Beamer kept trying late substitutions, and Bielma outfoxxed him.
Nothing wrong with outfoxing- just don't taunt a fellow coach. Especially during an injury timeout.

But if USCe used a signal to say "no plan to return" and then returned- that's low class.
I don't blame Bielma for being upset and I retract all the negative stuff I said about him.

Thanks, I thought he was giving a sideline warning signal with Beamer & crew out on the field. On another note, the throwback by the SC return man was a heck of a throw. Had he not thrown a bullet, the other returner would have been busted around the 5-10 yard line.

I haven't seen a taunting unsportsmanlike penalty call this entire year....not sure why they would start now.
