Aren't we exhausted from laughing at this year's preseason Top 10 FSU football team?

Jim Larranaga has stepped down as Miami's men's basketball coach, the school announced Thursday.
Larranaga, who turned 75 in October, took over at Miami in 2011. In his 14 seasons at the helm, he led the Hurricanes to six NCAA tournaments and four Sweet 16 appearances -- including a Final Four run in 2023. Miami went 11-6 in NCAA tournament games during Larranaga's tenure and won two ACC regular-season championships.

Veteran assistant Bill Courtney has been appointed interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Larranaga steps down in 14th season at Miami

To answer the OP, feline depression is no laughing matter.

We need to solve this epidemic before amusing ourselves at the sad plight of others.

Good for him. Great that he is kicking this nil bs to the curb. Wish more would do the same.

You can but it can easily happen to us. NIL and the portal=No Loyalty! Miami was in the final four 20 months ago and lost 8 stud players to greed. Now it may be easier to find replacements but picking players does not equal picking a team. If they don’t unify then you are just playing a game with minimal chance of winning. CTG has made good selections and our team, particularly this season, looks like a well oiled machine. Heading into the toughest part of our season so let’s hope the well oiled machine continues to grind.

If you want to laugh at somebody, use Alabama football. LOL. They will never be the same now that pay for play without rules or consequences, has arrived. Everyone can do it! Thanks NCAA, federal and state legislatures. Add LSU to the list. They are working hard to find ways to get around these new rules, Miami will learn from them also. We can also hope the rules change to make a little sense, maybe even try to get the kids to learn something while they are there. The transfer portal, money, tampering and NIL, these all need some logic.

In a hundred years history will mark pre-nil days like we mark leather helmet days. Saban's run will likely be marked as the end of the secret bags days. Not that cheating will end.

Yep. There's a lot of work to be done to reel things back in. The first and quickest thing to be done, I think, is to go back to something closer to what transfer rules used to be. Transfer? Sure, knock yourself out, but you have to sit out a year. How many colleges are willing to poach and pay players with big money if they can't play them right away?
Next, get the NFL to agree to lower or eliminate the minimum age requirement. A high school phenom can go straight to the pros in almost every sport, so why not football? Get the NBA to eliminate their minimum age too.

The court system is not allowing them to make the kids sit out. The nfl doesn't want high school kids.

I thought the transfer rule was unilaterally created by the NCAA. Was there a court ruling?

They settle every case because they get their ass kicked every time they try to fight. They have set a precedent now. Don’t see that genie going back in the bottle.

*The courts issued a tro disallowing the ncaa to enforce transfer rules. The ncaa announced they would no longer be enforcing the sit out requirements, and they are in the process of settling the case. They won’t fight it in court, and they’re not going to reinstate the rule to sit out.

All jokes aside, wish Lynn Kidd picked the Gators. Imagine
