Absolutely true, and wrt development BillyG has done great, but neither pearsall, Dike, or Badger were a #2 five star WR coming out of HS, Dallas Wilson is the epitome of the Lagway effect. the other guys were one year rentals that came in did great and improved their stock, Dallas Wilson is a domino that if he balls out can start a chain reaction wrt our meat and potato's of recruiting.... HS recruits.
The combination of CBN w/ AR and Mertz, as well as Mullen w/ trask, Emory etc of which Billy G was a part of both staffs, were not pulling top ranked 5 star WR's. Last time we pulled WR's like this was under Meyer, with Tebow at QB. In fact the last time we got 2 top 10 ranked WR's in the same class was in 2003, whic was the season following Rex Grossman's AP player of the year season, and the Freshman season of another Highly Nationally rated QB Chris Leak. I get the love for BillyG, and don't understand any hate thrown at him, but he didn't magically just start closing on top rated WR's because something "clicked" it's, IMO the lure of playing with someone like Lagway, who many see as a generational player.
Kid is kinda being overlooked because of the 5* guys but stars wont mean anything when they get on the field.
Wilson and Brown may have the potential but gloriously we don't need them to and are in a great situation to let them develop and a coach that will give them a shot to take a spot if they can.
I'd take Pavia with a more talented roster in a heartbeat. He's like a miniature Tim Tebow in that he just makes it happen.
