What isthis,the dating game?

 

Speed and play sets with crosses and stacks, etc are things we never do. This year would have been a good year for that with undersized outside hitters. The shoot sets may have helped them out and the athletic middles could easily run a variety of play sets at a faster pac like gap sets and back 1s, etc. . The backcourt attacks only coming from Kennedy is a handcuff as well, that is a vital out of system option we only use half the time. I also would add using more hand sets, for everyone on the court. No more doubles on second contacts on your side of the net now so why do we keep using the 20 foot high bump pass when someone other than the setter gets second contact? Put your hands on it and shoot that thing with more speed and accuracy. The libero play in the final four was great. Those girls were stepping in with hands and it made a difference.

 

Pitt graduated 5 and now their soph poy semi finalist OH Stafford hit the portal. Another game changing pin player. Hope she doesn't get taken by the normal Wisconsin, Nebraska, Stanford groups. Texas in need too, Louisville could pair her with Chicoine. Wish I could say Florida was in play .but probably not. She was #2 on Pitt for scoring and had best hitting percentage. Someone is getting a good one....could you imagine a line with her, Kennedy and Auguste?

Missouri graduated 7 and had 4 hit the portal. They already added 3 transfers including a pretty good 6ft OH that was the big west poy their season was pretty solid but you would think they will look completely different next year with that much turnover...11 new players in one year!

 

Texas lost their top setter to the portal but still have a quality one in reserve. They ran a 6-2 earlier then settled on a 5-1 with the setter that just hit the portal. The other top Purdue OH and B1G all conference player transferred to Kentucky, presumably to take Skinners role.
San Jose St lost 7 to the portal due to the trans player issues that program had this year. I think they were part of 7 or 8 forfeited matches. Those are some of the bigger names so far and Florida getting Byrd from Texas could be considered a big get given her status out of high school but just didn't get any looks with players like Skinner on the court.

 

Be careful, he knows Russians.

 

Volleyball portal closes Mon Jan 6 so things could start moving everywhere soon.

Looks very similar to our U10 practices. Sure glad my shoulder doesn't do that anymore...literally hundreds of times a day. These kids go hard-core very early in club ball. Some clubs are low key, let them have fun and everyone plays and hard core doesn't start till 14 or so....not our club, it started at 9! You should see what the Brazilian teams look like from a skill stand point at 11 or 12 years old, crazy good. I too wish we would adapt to a faster paced system with more intricate, harder to predict patterns but the women's game in general is fairly the same in college with few exceptions. Even the basic system we run probably should have gotten Mary a minimum of 2 titles with probably 2 more finals appearances were it not for injuries. It's when the talent is even that the scheme gives you the edge and right now there is talent everywhere. Look what 2 girls from basically nowhere did for Oklahoma this year.

 

I lived in São Paulo from 60-64 and I learned soccer, beach tennis, and volleyball with everything but hands.
