Haha, just saying they have played some teams tough. This is exactly the kind of game MW has always struggled with. They will probably still pull it out, but I’m beyond glad he’s someone else’s headache now.
Just peeking at some scores, it appears that some good teams, including SEC teams have let their guard down today against lesser competition. I'm surprised that the Gators only scored 85 against the Hatters, but the holiday hangover may have impacted the superior teams today.
— They did play Xavier tough. But they also lost by 22 to South Carolina, 9 to Jacksonville, 13 to Bethune Cookman and 29 to Marshall. Credit to Georgia for coming back, but SC state stinks.
115 minutes went to starters, 85 to bench. Maybe biggest reason on score: Condon and Rueben with 2 points each (1-4 and 1-3.)
Honestly think he’s a good coach and smart guy, but I’m so so so glad he’s not our coach anymore. It just felt like we were running uphill all the time. Perhaps how uga fans felt about Richt.
It should be clear now that he has a glass ceiling that had nothing to do with UF. Dude is just a straight up "Just about NCAA-tourney occasionally popping in" level. He was a La Tech and now at UGA too. Which will be more than fine for many schools, and I think UGA for awhile (Though I do see them trying to upgrade once their program stabilizes and they re-establish themselves as contenders to make the field) but it just wasn't gonna work at a school and fan base that had tasted 4 final fours under the previous regime. I don't think anyone expected Billy D. But making the tourney more often than not was probably the bare minimum and White IMO is just under that mark. Great guy and fundamentals coach, but just doesn't have that identity or recruiting edge to really get to the next level.
TG has really impressed me from the get go. He has done a remarkable job at bringing in bigs and having a balanced team. Each year the team has improved and that doesn't seem to change going forward. Perhaps with the turning around of the football team and the success of both bb and baseball team perhaps the demise of Scott was premature.
Yeah, I figured we'd look a little sloppy and careless. And we did, particularly in the first ten minutes. Cleaned it up gradually as the game progressed. Still, 40-point win. On to Rupp.
