Massive shot in the arm for the program imho, so please GOD let this be true!

 

Would Hartline really make Gator fans go crazy? I mean, I know that from a recruiting perspective he brings a ton of value, but as a guy who has never called plays it's not what I would consider a splash that most Gator fans would even know about. It has to be someone more high profile, IMO.

 

We know he’s never called plays?

 

If Zack isn’t going to share anything he should just keep quiet. He gets everyone worked up with excitement on something that might happen. Setting up many for disappointment because the reality doesn’t match their wild imagination.

He does this often.

 

There's plenty of info out there on it, including straight from Hartline himself. Before Kelly was brought in Ryan Day was calling the plays.

 

I would like a more aggressive defense and far less bend-but-don't-break nonsense, too. One thing at this and our entire philosophy on players and how we play them is... In this new world of the NIL and portal, playing say three guy rotations at the same position is great for the team, and it's great for our depth development, that is how we roll... But guess what it also does.

It gives many other schools a look at players that they can and do peel away from our team. These other teams/coaches have a college game film ready to see these second and third guys in game time situations, which means we have more players to protect from the portal. It's the price we pay to get more kids game-time experience, to create more depth.

I would also would rather that we get more aggressive on defense. We give up way too many yards (and points) in our current style of defense. That must be our next step, now that we have a good grasp of our defensive concepts... it's a natural evaluation.

Saw on Instagram someone at OFF3 is predicting Johntay Cook to UF!

 

Day wasn’t a great play caller too….but better than hartline. Kelly is putting his system in. Let’s see if that pays dividends. To be honest, I prefer Billy’s system with a physical run game. Just need a creative playcaller

 

Got it. I just wish he would stop with the pontificating if he has no details behind. He’s derailed positive momentum more than just a few times.

 

As long as people keep circulating their nonsense, these guys keep receiving a paycheck. They’re gonna keep doing what they do.
