Tight end Cameron Kossmann committs to Florida football Welcome to Gator Nation! Hard commit on 247. I wonder what this means for getting a veteran TE in the portal. https://247sports.com/Player/cameron-kossmann-46149916/
No. 172 ranked TE? With those measurables? I wonder if he is just under-evaluated or if he is just lacks speed or pass catching ability, because he has great size and is obviously a bright kid if he ws committed to Penn.
Kossmann initially committed to Columbia on Aug. 12, but decommitted on Sept. 25. He then pledged to Penn on Oct. 24, only once again to reconsider his decision. Ultimately, Kossmann decommitted from Penn and finalized his commitment by signing with Florida on Dec. 23.
He's basically a thin OT -- most of his highlights are blocking. Doubt we'll hear his name called for a few years.
His highlights make me think of a slightly more athletic Hansen who isn't quite as agile. We need a big time pass catcher at TE in 26. I wonder if Gelsey is contemplating where his chances are going to come from on a team that doesn't use the TE all that much and has Duce Robinson?
Meanwhile Ohio State secures a commit today from number 1 TE in the portal to transfer from Purdue. Had over 50 catches last year. But Ohio State is trying to win championships with players that fit their offensive philosophy. They want players that can get open and catch passes. An unranked HS TE with an offer to Penn is not on most top programs radars
This ignores a variety of factors.....the uf evaluation of the TE, where he fits regarding NIL allocation, how he complements the existing room, are there greater needs at other positions that require big $
Saw they view him as a more athletic Hansen....very smart and physical Clearly they get him cheap, might even be a walkon if necessary Think people overlook the air force transfer at TE, think he has a big year if healthy....this kid seems like a nice replacement for him thereafter No question imo we have bigger needs, a dt, an ot, maybe a corner, wr we have covered The roster build is like a puzzle with nil
While this is of course correct, TE has been pretty meh over Billy's tenure. Would be nice to get some greater production out of that position.
Truth be told i just want solid...there aren't many Pitts and Bowers. And honestly Pitts couldn't block so we just remember the catches
