I was listening to a podcast and the person who was doing the podcast says the report is more embarrassing than criminal. Basically he said Gaetz may have been a whoredog but the Biden DOJ spent a couple of years digging and found the witnesses were not credible and they did not charge him with a crime.
Somewhat but not totally. Am glad Trump dropped him but I do not think this report will do much more than embarrass him. I do hope he leaves the political arena.
So what does that say about the aptitude and judgement of the person that nominated him? It’s not like any of this was a secret.
The question is why did the state of Florida not charge him with a crime. The report specifically lays out the challenge of federally charging him, notably, that while he appears to have engaged in Prostitution and other illegal activities across state lines, he does not appear to have brought an underaged girl across state lines in order to have sex with her. However, the report does note the strong evidence of him having had sex with the underage girl in their joint state of residence (Florida). That seems like a state matter. So why hasn't the state stepped in to prosecute him?
By DC standards, the allegations against Gaetz are frivolous. How many posters here have never smoked marijuana or tried cocaine? Have sex with a girl a week before her 18th birthday and you're a felon. Have sex with her a week after her 18th birthday and you're a stud. I paid for a former girlfriend's DUI lawyer. Didn't know that was paying for prostitution. Gaetz was one of the most ethical politicians in the District of Corruption, calling out members of his own party by name for using inside info to trade stocks. Obama smoked crack and you Dems voted for him. Saudi Arabia and Qatar gave the Clinton Foundation ~$40M and Hillary led us into wars with their enemies, Assad and Gaddafi These attacks are designed to prevent Gaetz from having a future. All because he was young and having fun. I'll take this guy all day long because he's an ethical patriot with a big brain who is verbally gifted and has a spine. I love this guy and won't let a bunch of hypocrites tell me what to think.

At the age of 20 I was going to Valencia and working at the MAGIC KINGDOM. There were lots of pretty young ladies working there. One girl I pursued was working full time and had already graduated from high school. We started dating and I am sure you can imagine what happened over the next 6 months. I assumed she was of age because she was working fulltime days. She told me her birthday was coming up and would I like to come the party her Mother was throwing her. I went and when I saw the cake I liked to have pooped in my pants. It had big numbers on it. She was now 18. If you saw her no way you would have thought she was underage. It was very common place in the early 70's at Disney.
Did he go to court and lose a case? Has he been convicted of having sex with a minor? Then you know how to comport yourself accordingly.
