just pick the 12 best teams… it’s all a bunch of BS politics.

You also need to bring the BCS formula.. lets the computers have an influence as well, because SOS was considered back then.

The human element needs to be an independent panel. Doesn’t need any sitting AD’s , because of influence.

So did Boise State by 3 in Oregon.

I honestly was surprised how well PsU did vs Oregon in the Champ game.

    100%.

All the “top” teams have looked very average at times this year.

Nobody stands out as a clear beast team.

Eight teams with no byes. This ain’t the NFL. No team deserves to sit while others are battling.

At first I didn't agree with the selection and seeding, but now I'm ok with them. They're the only things giving any value to conference championships. I'm fine with Alabama and USCeast being out of the playoffs, they could've taken care of business earlier. It might be weird for Boise state and Arizona St to get byes, but at least it gave their conference race meaning.

It always bugged me in the new version of the NCAA basketball tournament that they make conference champions play in the play-in games. Yeah, they're small conferences and they deserve to be 16 seeds, but they should at least get to play in the actual tournament.

True, but to get this version of the playoffs, they had to appease those who traditionally got left out. No way should Boise or ASU get byes. Also, everyone knew that Indiana and SMU would get blown out. I'm glad that at least Clempson had some fight in them. Tenn laid a proverbial egg.

It has been going on much further back and ill include fsu and miami in that bias. Just because i hate em doesnt make it right. It was either late eighties or early 90's. Ucla was number one undefeated and they gad to play miami who had a loss or two, ucla was big favorites. I lived in San Diego and was telling all my friends that Edgerin James was going to completely embarrass the California sissies and miami destroyed them. They've always tried to deny that southern football was clearly superior but now there isnt any doubt. The few good teams that arent in the south get players from down here so they can compete. It starts with youth sports and theres no comparison between what goes on down here and elsewhere. They say it means more in the sec. It also means more in youth sports down here too.

South Carolina and Ole Miss had the quarterbacks to play with anyone. I wish those two would have gotten in, but I understand why they did not. If they went to 16, both of those guys would have been in and nobody would have a bye. Boise and Arizona State would likely have been beaten by these two teams, but they shouldn't have one seeds anyway.

If you can’t make the top 8 teams then try again next year. 12 is too damn many, as proven in spades last weekend. 16 would only be more ridiculous

16 would be the same damn thing we saw already except for those four teams with a buy we could've had Arizona State trying to play South Carolina and that would've been much better. Boise State could give a go at old miss. And I also guarantee you there will be some years where the top eight seeds do not win every game. I do agree that the top eight teams would be enough, but the problem is they're never gonna get the right ones in there. 16 eliminates the bullshit. And all the teams have to play.

Could you imagine 8 teams that included Arizona State, Boise State SMU and Indiana?

If the system is dumb enough to allow 12 teams in the playoff, 10-2 in the SEC will get you in every time. And it should. The problem is too many teams. Should be 8 teams max - and 6 would probably be better

8 teams wouldn’t include those 4 if they used the old BCS ranking system

And ASU might prove to be worthy before this is over.

EDIT: Did I just reply to myself?

As I recall, the HBC said basically the same thing some years ago. The 16-team format would definitely cure some ills. An eight-team framework might do the trick as well. As in all things, money will dictate the eventual outcome. FTR, this current 12-team arrangement is beyond idiotic.

Bcs left out auburn too. It would end up with some of that same bs of those teams i listed. Different years would bring different teams but tge bias and seeding would still be suspect. I realize there are not 16 worthy teams, but that would cut the bullshit out. All they could do is seed them improperly to gain advantage for certain teams. Oregon and Ohio State is some bullshit but you still get to play the game and there's only the national championship so you would eventually have to play them anyway. I would enjoy it on years with 16 and 18 like Boise State makes the final four which could damn sure happen. I'm rooting for Boise all the way and Thames better watch out because that Jeanty kid is good

Depends on your definition of bullshit. We saw plenty of bullshit last weekend. 16 would give us more :p

    16. Clears it all up. No undeserving byes And no teams left out that have a chance to win. If they go to 16 one day, a nine seed will win. It damn sure can happen. That would be proof that they didn't get the top eight correct. My thoughts are they would get the top eight wrong every single freaking year
