If they could actually get tge best eight teams, i would like that but thats not what they do. It takes 16 teams for the best eight to get in. Call the committee ignorant, dushonest or just plain stupid but we didnt get the twelve best teams. Theres many factors such as injury , pure luck or terrible calls that create losses. South Carolina is a team that is much better than the beginning of the year. If i got to pick the best twelve teams, id definitely put them in over a few that got in. Bama almost got in which is some crooked shit considering they git blown out late in tge year by Oklahoma. I just like 16 because no one could ever really bitch about being 17th. Well maybe fsu would.

Auburn started the year unranked and the season ended with 3 undefeated teams.....somebody was gonna get screwed no matter which 2 were picked.

It was clear to anyone with football IQ Auburn was better that year than Oklahoma that year.

I remember when the SuperBowl was a blowout year after year. Point being, just because there were some lopsided finishes this year doesn't mean it'll always be that way. But I do agree Tennessee's performance was embarrassing.

If the top 4 ranked teams end up making it to the semifinals anyway, we didn't accomplish much. Except, more games... more money.

They can do it no doubt. Theyve lost to tge eventual naty champions by less than a score the last three years. Their running game isnt great and neither is gheir qb but they are as good as any. Theres no favorite in my mind this year and none will be considered as an alltime great team.

But wait! I thought that every X-win SEC team was as good as an X+2-win OOC team? I'm confused. Perhaps they just didn't want to be there...or sumptim...

I mean let’s not go wild here. They won they won 10 games and got into the playoffs. Sampson was the team however Nico is likely to improve.

I like the 12 team playoff, but the selection committee needs to do its diligence and select the 12 BEST teams. 11 wins v. poor competition doesn’t make a team top 12. Boise, SMU, Indiana and Az. State are not top twelve teams. Bama, SC, ole Miss and Florida would beat them all day every day.

I don’t know why anyone could be surprised by this. Most of us saw this coming.

A lot of the complaints aren’t necessarily the committee but the whole design of the current playoff. They have to follow the parameters that were given. I was fine with 4 …but if we have to expand then 8 is the number. Qrtrs are on campus… semis & title games at neutral sites. Having 4 layers of games is just too much.

Who did you think should've gotten in at that point. I knew I thought Auburn was much better than Oklahoma and it was proven so. Since then the SEC has gotten the benefit of the doubt because they know where the best conference, but that was some bullshit.

The pregame warms up showing TN players shirtless in the 24 degree weather was a precursor to the events which unfolded at kickoff.

Was kind of disturbing. Do they have a S&C staff? Those guys were carrying a lot of bad weight. Poor body compositions for athletes.

Remember Texas beat USC in 05 the following year. The debate really kicked off in 06 as we all know. Lsu winning and then florida again in 08 and Bama 09 is when the whole SEC vs everybody took hold and there might have been a little reason to root for the SEC as a conference because we never wanted to see a chance at a worthy Auburn in 04 or florida in 06 miss a chance to prove themselves in a title game again.

People cry about an SEC bias but they forget about the Midwestern bias and other traditional big ten biases that dominated college sports before hand. The SEC had to earn their reputation amd they did. That said, those days are over and I never cheer for SEC schools anymore. They have screwed florida over several times and the system has changed. No more popularity contests where favorites are voted champions. Have to earn it on the field so screw the SEC. We don't need them anymore.

The NCAA doesn't have anything to do with the College Football Playoffs. The "powers that be" are a completely separate entity.

But I'm sure we have the top two with the twelve that are in there. And we certainly have the top 4 with the 12 that are in there. And I dare say we very likely have the top 8 with the 12 that are in there, such sounds like what you want. Personally, I think being sure you have the top 4 by having an 8 team playoff would do the trick, but it doesn't matter. That is just my preference to not have it get watered down with lousy games like yesterday.
