It fits better going into the fourth. Having been there for a number of games as of late I’d argue it helps pump the team and the crowd up for the final quarter.

Curious of others feel the same way.

Well, it should be changed to "We Are the Folks." (It's even alliterative!)

The "money down" came here with Geoff Collins when he took a "lateral" from MSU, per Mullen. It was true then but crashed and burned with Grantham...

It's fine where it is. Lots of fun. It's not an old tradition, but, it has stuck and will become a longtime tradition over time. Just watch.

They do it because they can. Back in the day, they used metal halide (HID) lamps and you couldn't just turn them off and back on again. They also had to warm up for a couple hours to get maximum footcandles out of them so they would come on in the first quarter of a 3:30 game so when the sun goes down you could still see.
LED can be switched off and on, change colors and dimmed in an unlimited fashion providing maximum flexibility for lighting designers.

Yep, 1969 and Houston was getting it's ass handed to it, and the bozo still did it.

I like it where it is also. It's a pause and a push to the end of the game and I think it really raises the energy in the stadium for that late push. of course, if we're getting our asses handed to us like the Miami game, it doesn't help much

The surprising thing about that season-opening drubbing was that Houston was ranked pre-season No. 1 by Playboy Magazine. I believed everything that I read in Playboy. (I couldn't believe some of the pictures.)

No, I was sitting right on the yard line where Carlos caught the ball. It's one of two plays at Florida Field that I remember the most. The other being Spurrier's 40-yard FG to beat Auburn and clinch the Heisman Trophy.

I didn’t like the move at first, it seemed to diminish the “We are the Boys” tradition. But it has grown on me and you are right, it definitely gets the crowd juiced up. Probably the players too.
