Throwing unsubstantiated shame across the board, all in the name of internet freedom..
IRRESPONSIBLE, EVEN HERE IN LALA LAND..

Couching every observation with the perfunctory well, IF THIS IS TRUE, then…Stricklin has a bad record, should be fired, Golden should be fired, others who were shamed means Golden is guilty probably …and ..possibly being fired,…no bueno.

EVEN IF ACTUAL FACTS MAY NOT SUPPORT THE INITIAL ALLEGATIONS..IN THE NAME OF PUBLIC RELATIONS..firing or denigrating …that is not justice. THAT is a travesty.

I tend to agree with grayg8rsteveo . . . Like Americans learned the last few years with all social media except Twitter/X now, Gator Country is a private entity and absolute free speech doesn't apply. Content is regulated. For example, we don't traffic in rumors here and don't support wild speculations about our coaches. I've had to delete some but maybe this thread has run its course until new facts are established.

 

I unlocked this thread again in anticipation of an announcement from the University of Florida.

I remind a surprising number of posters to stop posting rumors. Everyone who wants Twitter/X attention has been re-posting a rumor for some clicks or hearts or attention and when anything is published, or announced by Florida, we can discuss it. Thanks!

 

I recognize the mods have a tough job, but this particular forum here seems to have more rules and limitations than any here, the effect is to limit conversation instead of expanding it, which BBall deserves, especially now. It’s the only forum I tegularly seem to run afoul of the rules or expectations for, and usually without explanation. Posts are just fine, or moved. If a mod wants to reach out feel free, but for now I will stick to the insider bball board.

His comment was primarily about not posting rumor. Good policy. Except for those who continuously post nonsense this isn't a problem to understand. Bball deserving comment is available all over the board in more than enough posts without posting about Todd Golden until there are some facts to it.

 

Doubtful any real facts trickle down to our level. We’re just gonna find out if his goose is cooked or not. At this stage, it appears not.

All I've seen is one tweet from unknown source. Anything more substantial? Are we actually expecting an official statement soon?

Supposedly. It's why I reopened the thread. However, I do not know the specifics of any announcement's timing.

With it being a Title IX matter I expect a short, blunt type of statement . . . but don't know anything since these matters are highly confidential.

Don't be too sure. It won't be in any statement from the University though. There is just a highly confidential proceeding . . . for now . . . so I am reluctant to say anything more than let's continue to take it one step at a time.

please remember this forum is on the free side and anyone who wants can log in and read what is on here, including parent of potential gator players. Unfounded rumors can be used against us in recruiting and can create dpoubt and personal issues within the team. It is best to err on the good side than the bad side of things. Plus since this a privately owned forum, we do not need for someone to post rumors that could come back to haunt the site

 

Amen. Also unfounded rumors are a waste of time and soul-draining, there's enough "noise" on the internet as it is. We certainly don't need any more.
