1- they need to not open it until after the NC game 2- kid gets 1 transfer- if he goes into portal a 2nd time they sit a year 3- to transfer kid needs to have a 3.0 or better or he sits a year 4- if kid graduates then he can go into portal a 2nd time without sitting
Portal timing can't be delayed to mid Jan if you expect student-athletes to transfer and enroll for spring classes...
That's exactly the current hurdle they have to figure out. Classes start early Jan, so portal transitions have to wrap up before then. Not sure how it can be done, honestly.
Well the PSU backup QB usually gets several snaps in each game. Since the starter announced he is returning next year the backup has to enter the portal if he wants to start somewhere so is not available for their game tomorrow
Quit. Pretending their students and let them start class in the summer. That's kind of messed up because the ones that actually are students need that semester
Not true. He could continue to play with Penn State and then negotiate with other schools. Penn State's Beau Pribula entering transfer portal isn't NCAA's fault
Have portal only in spring/summer, makes the penalty no early arrival if they don’t want to sit a year which leads to transfer during fall winter come with sitting out or perhaps lose a year of eligibility. Have an exception for grad transfers all probably moot anyway given recent court decision
How about we only open the transfer portal at the end of the spring semester? Qualify it with a min GPA requirement for immediate eligibility. Or heck, have a second Dec transfer window that requires sitting a season...
The entire football season has to start earlier and end sooner in order to get the Natty to end mid-January or earlier. I believe the portal was open till January 15th last year? Is that right? If the season started in late August, then maybe it can get done.
The NCAA controls the portal. It's part of the regular season. It has nothing to do with the CFP. The CFP is it's own entity as well as the bowls and is an invitational tournament. The portal is tied to the academic year not the football season.
You would lose in court. The NCAA has lost or settled every lawsuit since the supreme court ruling. They literally have no legs to stand on.
I don’t believe the good players are even going to class. If a kid is being paid $2 million to go to a certain school, I seriously doubt said school is going to jeopardize their investment by being crabby about grades. And the player is gonna say peace as soon as they start giving him trouble for his grades.
Nothing should wait for the NC game. They need to deal with it and not hinder the rest of college football.
