Yeah, let's roll with the "eating the cats" garbage and not this... And the left wonders why they lost in Nov. https://www.wsj.com/politics/biden-...6a839?st=SJfFS4&reflink=article_copyURL_share
Lying by omission implies the media simply didn't mention Biden's deteriorating condition, but that is not what really happened. They actually told us (repeatedly) he was fine and "sharp as ever" and (fill in the blank). So we can't really file this one under lying by omission. As regards to FDR, every situation is unique I suppose, but I don't think that helps us here with Biden. I have no doubt FDR could project confidence and clarity in his words from a wheelchair. Especially to those around him; his administration staff and Congress. A wheelchair didn't change his ability to make decisions or articulate policy/ideas. He could still carry out the duties of the Oval Office from a wheelchair. He could still sit between Churchill and Stalin and own the stage like a boss. The issue with Biden was not a wheelchair, but the lack of mental acuity necessary to carry out his duties. Which had been in doubt by his detractors for a long time. That is a totally different problem than a wheelchair. I don't see much room for debate on this as it was proven when Biden delivered the disastrous debate performance. That performance should have never happened. It was potentially the defining moment of the election cycle. The debate revealed how much he was struggling with all of the above. He was and is not fit for the job. I don't think this subject is even in doubt to anyone being objective. Biden's mental condition was easily the biggest lie of the year.
Honestly, the media and certain politicians were just lying to themselves about biden's mental state...
The whole idea that 'the media lied' ... 'the media said he was sharp as ever' and even 'the media said' is silly. Hundreds of reporters have access to the White House. They don't all say the exact same thing. Covering Biden was probably difficult because, as many have complained, he wasn't as accessible as some presidents. Sometimes he was pretty sharp, sometimes he obviously wasn't. The debate fiasco was obvious and in front of the entire nation. Certainly the stories should have been tougher. But the idea that the media was all working together to hide his problems are ridiculouse.
LOL. The media did lie and cover for Biden. It's absolutely ridiculous that anyone would even question that at this point. But hey, if you want to believe the media does their job, go for it. I mean we have a CNN Reporter literally saying they didn't ask any questions. What more do you want?
While eating the pets was a stupid point someone put out( before Trump brought it up) that is hardly the lie of the year. The LIE OF THE YEAR was that Joey had zero cognitive issues and was in charge and running circles around everyone in the WH.
This is a start. The beginning of reconciliation. You are correct that the media didn’t “all say the exact same thing”. But if you remove “exact” from that line you have an extremely accurate depiction of what they did. The words were not all the same, but the messages certainly were.
Some of you guys are really trying to pretend you read and watched every story the media produced about Biden the past four years and you know for certain that the New York Times or Time magazine, for example, never wrote anything to suggest that Biden was losing it? Every story was about how sharp he was, is that it?
I happened to miss the first 20 minutes or so of the debate. That is the time for Biden's big flubs. I watched the rest of the debate and thought he did pretty good which is why I was surprised seeing the post debate reaction from the media that he was terrible.
Dear Leader repeatedly & emphatically stating the known lie ‘they are eating your pets’ was the lie of the year. And it’s such an odd item for him to try and get everyone riled up about. Was he attempting to propagate some negative stereotype of individuals from other countries?
Should be simple. Go find a CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS/NBC report from 2020 saying Biden is senile and shouldn't be President. Hell, I'll settle for Biden is losing it but he's better than Trump LOL. Let us know what you find.
River - Reporters came out and said the White House was threatening them with limiting their access and impacting their professional credibility if they reported on Biden's mental condition. Chris Cillicza talked about how the White House said it would be offensive for anyone to even ask. And it is not like his mental condition was some sort of Conspiracy Theory over the last couple years. NATO Allies were actively talking about it and how they had to change up the schedule at NATO meetings to accommodate Biden. It was the worse kept secret at NATO. I'm not saying it was not reported on but when one time a major media outlet, ie the WSJ, came out and did a serious article on it, the rest of the major media outlets went on offense to try and discredit it. The CNN article below is an example of that. https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/06/media/wall-street-journal-biden-mental-acuity/index.html
