Just read the OH from Arky Madkin is also a 4 times state champ in several track events, long and triple jump. Makes me wonder if she has two sport ambitions here at UF.

Looks like Purdue getting hit hard in the portal. Chloe Chicoine entered too...hoping someone has a big check because she is a game changer, even being rather undersized hasn't held her back at all.

For the first time ever, a female head coach will head a national champion. Always wanted it to be Mary Wise, but what the heck, she can be the second! Go Gators VB!

Well...looks like Mary missed out on being the first SEC program to win a natty and being the first female coach to win a natty. All she can do now is being the first SEC/female coach to win back to back natty's ;)

Louisville will probably win and then that will make another program with a fraction of the historical success UF has had in volleyball winning a title before us, joining the likes of Kentucky and Washington before them. Yippee. The two major universities in Kentucky may win a title before us, so great.

If you are calling Bre a traitor, I disagree.
Bre followed her football boyfriend there. I do not remember his name.

So, if we give Ariel a pass for love, Bre gets one, too.

DeMerrit is a whole different story.

You & ET Gator probably hold the majority opinion, but I like both Bre Kelley & Merritt Beason. Oh well, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Go Gators.

    Aniya Madkin story from floridagators.com:

Florida Volleyball Welcomes Transfer Aniya Madkin - Florida Gators

Just me maybe, but think of an athletic upgrade to AC Fitzpatrick, less like Isabel Martin:

    ----------AC-----Aniya
    Height---5'11"--6'2"
    Kills-----220----331
    Errors---105----137
    Hit %---.185---.184
    Assists---8------4
    S Errors-29-----0 (Did Not Serve)
    Digs-----78-----47
    Blocks---45-----35
    Points----255---350

I suspect we won't be seeing bullet serves off the hands of Aniya Madkin. :)

I'd like to see Aniya improve her hitting % with UF, say in the .225 to .250 range. By further comparison, Isabel Martin had a .233 hitting %.

You are entitled to your opinion even though it is wrong. Once a Gator Always a Gator doesn't apply to those who leave and let the door hit them in their ass by making negative comments about UF.

Just in the quarterfinal, Bre Kelley was quoted by one of the announcers as saying transferring was the best thing she ever did. She should have just kept her damn mouth shut after all of this time. No way is she a Gator. Bre is 100% Panther.

Merritt Beason was worse as she left her UF captain position and bad mouthed UF going out the door. Merritt is 100% Cornhusker. I like Merritt too. She will always be a Robert Palmer girl to me.

Better look out for UNL's HC John Cook trying to steal Kennedy Martin. He is probably thinking Nebraska could have won the last 2 national championships if his huskers had Kennedy rather than Merritt. Suck on that John Cook.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

See my comment on Bre in post #2975. I didn't have a problem with Bre until she ran her mouth after being at Pitt for 2 years. Give me a break, how hard is it to keep your mouth shut. I immediately became a Louisville fan for the semifinal.

I’m ok with Bre. Nice young lady, gave her an Uber ride when she was still at UF. DeMerritt is a whole different story. Team captain who Had disparaging comments about the Gator program when she left. No class.

Kennedy is a Gator. She loves the program and everything about the university. Not only that, she has the highest GPA on the team. She is a class act who gives what free time she has to helping others. She will graduate a Gator!

So if the new transfer OH has no serves i guess it's safe to say she will provide no backcourt play which means another OH that will get subbed out and no backcourt attacks in those rotations other than the 3 Kennedy is in. Limiting the system in this way makes little sense in today's game...anyone paying attention to who is in the final four? Lots of quality OH AND RS with numerous backcourt options.
