2025 has to continue the process. Team growth has to continue. The goal is most certainly to get to the SEC Championship and make the playoffs. If the team ends ups 8-4 and misses the goal, that would be a little tough for how the roster is looking like going into next year. Can't have another 7-5 or look a mess early against LSU/UM, like they did against UM/A&M this year. That would be trouble. With that said, I’m all in on the Gators making the jump to title contention next year. With 2nd year Langway, all the returning talent and new talent coming in, UF is set up for big success in 2025. The rebuild is complete.
If it all works out right, UF may need to replace the entire starting OL- the scenario is RSR Manuel at RT and Harris plays himself into the first two rounds of the 2026 NFL draft; the entire starting five “be gone”. This would be great for 2025, just have to do some prep for 2026, which CBN has shown he can do. Just want to see the 2nd unit get as much PT as they can. As of today, my WAG for the 2nd unit would be- Westphal, Zandy, Kearny, Lovett, Jones. They can be set up to be ready for 2026. Tough to replace the cohesion of four RSRs and a top draft pick, but that group would be in position to do it. 2026 would be their 3rd sesaon together.
I feel good about the outlook for '25 too, but I'm constantly mindful of how far we had to come from that awful start to get to the encouraging finish this season. I don't expect every "i" to be dotted or every "t" to be crossed by KO in '25, but you are correct about no more waiting to become "competitive at a high level." I totally agree that we shouldn't be stumbling out of any gates or trying to figure out WTH we're doing on the sidelines again next season. I just think a really good season next year could lead to an even better one in '26. JMHO/hope.
Yes... I'm sure he will, he plyed depth guys this year. Just needs to be more intentional about it next year. Also have to worry about keeping the 2nd unit together. Hopefully Lovett and Kearney are OK with part time minutes in 2025.
That's the most important part of the whole thing I would think. You can't pull an offensive line out of the portal like you can corners or receivers or running backs. They need to play together
So many improvements of the roster and all around the program. Progress has been made despite the chaotic landscape. Yet the biggest problem may have been the cluster churn of coaches. It has to stop.
Coaches have always moved around on good programs in college. It's just a part of the business. If the Coach is good, he's moving up.
If they're moving on to better jobs, good for them. If BN runs 'em off and replaces them with a better coach, good for us.
I'm a realist but we've had an uncommon cluster that was not part of the plan. Including strength and conditioning. Hopefully that part is good and we make a couple of good additions and not lose anyone we want to keep a few years.
It's a tough job and Napier is not commanding coaching staffs like Nick satan would. It's probably a little tougher for him, but money talks. I think he will get it done, but there will be some bumps in the road of course
You could use an ipad as a phone. Lol Mine is tied to my phone so I do occasionally answer a phone call on it, but I don’t carry it around like a phone.
