Mercedes still cares. . . I think. Lexus are tanks. There's an old one in NY neighborhood that still looks brand new.
THAT I would keep. That year is, IMO and others, peak BMW. I love mine, but just too much plastic. Just a year later too.
From my experience, Mercedes service reps are great, but salesmen suck. Yep, I wouldn't buy a Mercedes but wife has had several. DIL and her mom drive Lexus SUVs and love em. Different strokes as they say.
Toyotas and Hondas. Keep up with the maintenance and they will run forever. Our 2016 CR-V is the third Honda we've had with over 100,000 miles. Just drove it from Phoenix to N. Cal over Thanksgiving, and it still drives like new. Also now have a Camry Hybrid. Great car. Nissan used to have similar reliability. And decent styling. But they have been slipping over the years.
We’ve had great luck with Hondas. Over the years have owned an Integra, 2 Legends, a Pilot, 2 Ridgelines, and 2 RDXs. Have never had any problems. I’m on my 18th year in a Ridgeline (got a new one in ‘22) and wife is on her 15th year in an RDX (new on earlier this year). Also owned a Honda Fury for a few years before giving it to my son. It was an extremely reliable bike, fun to ride (comfortable with bar risers and Mustang seat), but had a little too much plastic. Presently looking for a nice used Africa Twin.
Nissan shares notch best day in at least 40 years after reports on potential mega merger with Honda Nissan shares surged 24% while Honda Motor stock slipped following media reports that the two Japanese automakers were potentially considering a merger. According to a report in the Nikkei newspaper, Honda and Nissan are considering operating under a holding company, and soon will sign a memorandum of understanding. Joe McCabe, the president and CEO of AutoForecast Solutions, told CNBC Wednesday that Nissan needs a "revitalization" after its relationship with Renault went sideways.
tried to pm you but doesn't seem possible. let me know dates that work for you and we can get you into the restoration shop so you can ask a few questions or get some supplier insights to go along with the museum tour..maybe even go for a ride. they like to take them out for a ride to keep em lubricated on occassion.
I have my car I don’t need, but love (2017 CTS-V), and my “I can fix anything with bubble gum, JB Weld, and/or WD40,” a 1998 Chevy K1500. My old truck is rust free. I just spray bedlined it myself, did a bunch of paint correction/respray, and pulled the interior for a deep clean. She runs great, has cold AC, and does everything I need her to do. I’m about to just sell the V. I love that monster, but it’s expensive as heck to maintain. Wife has a 2022 XT-6. It hauls people in the most boring way possible.
Agree. I’m not a big fan of BMW, but in those years the 3 and 5 series were excellent and have held up better than anything BMW either before or since
I’ve been looking for a midsize truck and these two are the only ones still offering V6s in theirs. I really like the GMC Canyon but there’s no way I’m buying a turbo in line 4 in a mid size truck.
IDK, I love the 2002 (my introduction to BMW) and 3.0 series. Even the 320i and early M cars probably collectables. But, yes, '05 appears to be the standard for BMW, including the M cars.
Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the extra 20K for the M so just the 2005 330ci. It did have the faster of the two engine options though.
