I did not know that these little monsters could grow to 2" long. They have not been seen on U.S. soil since 2021, so they have been declared eradicated. The population in British Columbia has also been eliminated. More of a problem for people in the Northwest than in Florida, but I am amazed that an invasive species could be destroyed so quickly.

Invasive 'murder hornets' are wiped out in the US, officials say

Charlotte should change their name/mascot from the hornets to the “murder hornets”.

Good news! Asian hornets would absolutely crater domestic (and European) bee populations.

Would they have part of the stands re-named "murderers row"? They probably would not want to encourage fans to murder opposing fans--you know some of them would.

Another invasive species is on its way out on the west coast: the European green crab. Apparently, otters are going to town on them.

Out-of-control invasive species has met its match: Cute and hungry otters

I know everyone thinks otters are cute but they are vicious bundles or muscle teeth and claws. And they can be mean and aggressive . Glad they are waging war on invasive species.

    They are like orcas.

I showed a Nat Geo clip to my APES class thinking it was the old series, but it was the MAX (HBO) reboot in which a pod ruthlessly menaced a grey whale and her calf for miles and 40 minutes until finally exhausting the calf and eating it, mama defending until the end.

    They are so cute!!
