Thanks CH. What a nailer biter of a game, especially down the stretch. Nice to hear what Golden’s thoughts were during that last time out. Good adversarial experience for the team.

Great piece as always, Chris. The only thing I would mention is to re-read what you write, some minor grammatical errors that can be easily spotted and fixed when reviewing.

Lol. Writers LOVE hearing this. Dude is a professional journalist who probably posted that at 1:00 in the morning.

I thought before the game, 86-81 with UNC giving us their best shot, in Charlotte, 99% of the fans and refs of their choice, we would be able to still beat them, with a deep and talented roster. I knew this would be a nail biter due to the fore-mentioned problems. They ran with us and almost pulled it off, but as a famous law firm has a saying, “Size Matters!”. Thxs Chris for the write up.

They get paid to do it, regardless of the time. If they don't, don't write for a living. Personally, I think it's a sign the reader is actually paying attention to the article, prose and grammar. I saw the same issue but chose to let it pass, but it is his profession.

As I noted above, I appreciated Chris' prose. It was eloquent sports prose, and we don't get much of that anymore, to your point about today's media. If I'm him, I'm going back and editing to fix the issues. It's what pros do. I remember the writing in the old days of Sports Illustrated. Heck, even the scripts for the old NFL Films were superb sports journalism. It's not confined to media, though it is their stock & trade. People aren't schooled in our native language, even though it is arguably the one in the world most able to convey the widest range of sentiment. I expect our j-school grads to have a mastery of form as well as function of language. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

*NOTE: I had a syntax error in my post and, in re-reading noted it and corrected it. I had used WAS which did not align with the plural of the noun 'scripts'. I could either change the subject to singular 'script' or change the verb to 'were'. I underlined my correction. No one called me out, though they'd have been right to do so. As we have noted, if errors are easier in this modern world of prose, so are corrections.

The problem with today's media is today's media audience. We don't want to pay for anything.

It's harder these days than in print days. Thorough editing, even on the top news sites, is a dinosaur. People demand their news NOW.

this is true - I know how challenging it is. I'd even offer to do the editing in my free time. The good thing with being online is you can still edit AFTER you submit, whereas in print is in print for good

I hear ya - it's because spellcheck just picks up incorrect words, not little grammar errors. 5 minutes, that's all I'm asking lol.

yes don't get me wrong, I love his articles and writing style. That's why I take the time to read them, and always do. I'm just saying take 5 minutes of his time. I'd even offer to do that for him. Very easy fix - actually writing the article takes a hell of a lot more time, and I fully appreciate it. He writes great articles. I'm just a picky SOB. lol.
