This is the perfect example to stress, once again, why we do not bash players who announce their intention to enter the portal. I didn't see any of it this time either. Thanks.
Negotiations and the portal are understandable but theres a right way and a wrong way. Princely was always making social media noise and i was glad to see him go, much like Copeland.
But nothing we say - until the decision is finalized - has any effect on the process and, if we post rabidly angry GTFO kind of stuff it only makes people here look more foolish if they decide to stay.
I think we have had a successful portal season so far regarding keeping our current talent in place. If Pyburn is the only major casualty we’ll take that. We just need to snag a couple quality receivers to help lagway and maybe some defensive linemen and we’ll be good. We are stacked at linebacker finally.
I didn't want him. 1 year left. His numbers went down every year? Awesome news about Jake means our O-line stays almost intact and we only need that 1 OT as a starter. After that its all about the backups. No idea how much Jake gets to return but hopefully we have a little more of an incentive to get the best OT we can.
I believe cohesion is equally as important as talent when it comes to a line. Getting all these guys back would be a blessing. Im not sure we would have the most talented line but we may have one of tge best units if they all come back.
Slaughter was mentioned as most likely to leave early so hopefully Barber will stick but you never know. I was hoping for some return announcements this week. Slaughter may be the first. I barely remember the days when we had plenty of time to throw about any time we wanted. Maybe Friday and beyond....
