either get on the bus or get out of the way Self-deportation comes to Washington as bureaucrats abandon jobs ahead of Trump’s return
More likely the analysis is: buy oversize shoes and a red nose and get on the clown bus or get out of the way and work for someone you can respect.
Story makes it sound like a mass exodus of govt employees. But it looks like it’s just three top officials whose departures have already been reported.
Wow, this is amazing - three people in DC resigned! Trump is really "draining the swamp!" (Just don't look at all those billionaires and criminals he's putting in power.) This reminds me of his first (failed) term, where he announced every tiny shred of good news, or a business' success, in order to falsely claim credit......and then he left with the stock market collapsed, the unemployment rate through the roof, and the deficit exploded. And nothing accomplished: no wall, no immigration reform, no infrastructure, no health care..... But if OP is excited for another round of being conned, have at it. The rest of us know better.
Tell me you don’t understand agency political appointees without telling me you don’t understand agency political appointees. It’s normal for them to resign, sans many the FBI Director since norms dictate (I think) a ten year term. Our Trump era Director resigned in January 2020. It was perfectly normal. Edit: I continue to be alarmed how Republicans think that the rank-and-file should be absolutely loyal to a POTUS. Our loyalty is to the American public and Constitution and you should be happy that’s the case. What Project 2025 and supporters of unitary executive want is a civil service that will carry out orders, no matter the ethics or legality related to the issue. This is a bad thing.
Most of the individuals specifically cited in the article are political appointees who would be leaving at the end of the Biden administration anyway. As far as career civil servants who may be leaving most of them are either eligible for retirement and/or can get better paying jobs in the private sector.
