Just got back from the game and it was a great time and I will post my thoughts in a separate thread. But I want to call attention to the fact that our band and cheerleaders were nowhere to be found. Auburn brought theirs and it engaged their crowd big time and they brought a ton of fans to the game. We were a distant second in attendance then Ohio state then Georgia / Grand Canyon / ASU tied for last. It’s not shocking that Auburn had so many fans there with them being a consistent top 10 program with a final four under its belt under Pearl, and additionally, geography as they are way closer than we are to Atlanta so their fans could easily travel. But this thread is to bring attention to yet another example of the athletic association being out of touch, not giving Golden with his strong and rising program, the support it deserves. I mean how much can it be to bring the cheerleaders and band for an athletic department that generates millions of dollars? Our bench were literally the ones who got the fans going chanting defense when we should have had a band there doing that for us. Thanks a lot Scott.
Can't believe our cheerleaders and band were not in attendance. Lame. May be that our students are studying for finals/ on break? Auburn couldn't care less with their coloring books and such.
This is a non-issue. Campus is virtually empty at the moment. Also, consider that last week, SS flew the pep band to Lawrence, Kansas, for the volleyball team's NCAA tournament match against the favored Jayhawks. The Gators pulled the upset in a 5-set thriller, by the way. Beam 'em up, Scottie!
