Maybe someone needs to bankroll a true football player winner's trophy, per position, based more on stats? I know strength of schedule will make that less equal by comparison in that one metric, but it's better than the political BS that these, named for past great players trophies, have become. The People's Choice to the Emmys... Lol. The True Stats Awards...
It also helps when you tally 709 offensive snaps and 713 defensive snaps as well as 21 special teams snaps for a total of 1,443 snaps during the regular season.
The infinitely dumber thing is he wasn't a Thorpe award finalist where he's CLEARLY the best DB in college football.
I’m thoroughly convinced that an NFL GM would build quite a team just taking a contrarian approach to whatever spews out of Kiper’s mouth.
No, defense and special teams snaps have NOTHING to do with the Biletnikoff award. By that logic give him the Outland Trophy too lol
Maybe Colorado played a more difficult schedule or tougher defenses than San Jose State. Maybe Hunter had more spectacular catches. Maybe Hunter is on a team that runs more than San Jose State. For years, Hawaii and Houston were pass-happy teams that put up unbelievable numbers (against crappy defenses), yet their QB's and WR's were not always locks for the big awards. It's not always just about the statistics.
Agree! I grew up in Cape Coral/Ft. Myers (where Deion is from & went to high school). The stories & rumors about him were nuts. I think now that he won't have T. Hunter & his kid a QB, we're gonna see that he ain't all that as a coach IMO.
Who would you rather have on your team Nash or Hunter? End of debate Nash is a good player. He’s not Travis hunter
