I wondered if at some point coaches would start kicking in to buy players. Makes sense, because that’s what most players are cha$ing.
62, LOL at the twitter. So I think I would like to see this: University President Athletic Director Head Coach Booster Club President NIL Head Administrator TV Executive In a traveling "Six Stooges / Kit and Kaboodle" horse and wagon pulled "Medicine Show" extraveganza. They can pull up to the homes of Fortune 500 principal stock holders and run around and do some combination of a "midsummer nights dream / Shakespearean play" combined with a 19th century Western "Medicine Man Curative Elixir" sales skit. All for the dwadling donation of Ten Million Dollars a performance.
Knowing Cajuns as I do... probably came from a donor, just saying it's from Kelly to make him look good to recruits and public, and quiet the crazy fans calling for him to be fired.
Unless he can feel some of the young ones breathing down his neck. He has a great heart and motor but he's no all star.
I like the bands and the pageantry that the NFL does not have. The college game just feels more exciting to me. That's just my opinion.
I’m really starting to hate Texas A&M. And I went to grad school there. SMH Adding both Texas schools, Oklahoma, and Missouri were mistakes. Sankey should be run out on a rail for destroying our shitty conference
This just seems scummy to me. You’re telling me coaches have already been privately donating to their NIL funds? It almost seems like it should be illegal. I think Congress is gonna have to step in with this NIL stuff and create some kind of legal system to it. Maybe make it like campaign finance laws. Spend what you raise for the year then you have to return the rest of the unspent cash. But I’m not gonna hold my breath on Congress figuring this out. They can’t even figure out a budget. Rant over.
It’s happening. The NCAA or whatever system that we will have for college football will need to have congress involved unfortunately.
I expect the 2 big conferences, and maybe more, will form a league to set rules for NIL and many other things. It will be very NFL like. Enforcement of rules will be uniform and have teeth. Cheating will happen but hopefully it will be inconsequential in the scheme of things once the dust settles.
I think we might want to step back for a moment and review the Constitution and how it defines the role of our government in our lives. Thinking college football is outside the scope
Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on ones philosophy, how the Constitution has been interpreted over a hundred years is that almost everything in our lives is subject to governmental involvement/regulation.
