One of just eight undefeated teams remaining, the Florida Gators (9-0) will try to keep their spotless record on track December 14th when they take on the Arizona State Sun Devils who have had a pleasant start to the season at 8-1. This game will take place on a neutral site in Atlanta, Georgia under the “Holiday Hoopsgiving” title, increasing the value of both games. Currently Arizona State is 34th in the NET making this a quad-1 game at the moment–though there is certainly a chance the Sun Devils drop below the 50 mark which would make this a quad-2. The NET rankings are currently all over the place due to the small sample size and they will change drastically between now and the end of the season, but the 34th rank for Arizona State speaks to a solid start to the year.

Arizona State. Where Michigan coach Bill Frieder announced that he was moving to before the 1989 NCAA tournament, AD Bo Schembechler dismissed him as not being a "Michigan man" and Steve Fisher took over and led Michigan to the Natty.

Aw man...are we going to discuss Quad rankings already? So speculative it's almost a waste of time in my opinion.

Crap, that write up makes ASU sound like a really good team. Here's hoping we can figure them out and get the W to move to 10-0.

Other than Gonzaga, they haven’t really played anyone. They lost to Gonzaga by eight. The long layoff worries me, but if we play like we have the last few games, it should a double digit dub.

I am thinking it will be a closer game. Something like the game against the Holes but without the late game self destruction.

I, too worry about the lay off. This team hasn't really layed an egg yet. We've had a few stretches in a couple games where we weren't dialed in, but that's it. I hope the boys stay focused and are avoiding the rat poison.

They haven’t played since Dec 3, so the long layoff goes both ways. Given how competitive our team is and how well we have played the last four games against better opponents, I don’t see us laying an egg at all.

They are a unique matchup because they shoot so well and have some decent rim protection and rebounding at the 4/5. But they aren’t very deep, turn the ball over a bunch, and only have 2 returnees in their rotation (against 3 freshmen). Not a great recipe against a team like us.

Exactly, I like the match up as well. I'm certainly concerned about their 3 point percentages but also expect those shots get harder in the second half. Plus we can extend our defense when needed with our quality defensive guards. If they get into foul trouble it will be a big advantage for us. If we get going up and down the court, it's another big advantage for us. If their long range shots from 3 rebound out to us, we will push it up for easy baskets. We have to make them pay when they miss their 3s.

We've typically given up some wide-open 3s early in the game until CTG starts fussing. Then it tightens up and we get the closeouts going.
I expect Hurley will have his guys getting plenty of open looks today so we just need to contain them.
Aberdeen could be a key player on the perimeter today.

It was destruction all right. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Gators got to s lead as high as 29 in the second half. SMH.
    Wow, 10 - 0.
