I wonder if the players even know about or ever read the Ongoing UF Softball Commentary. I hope they do. If not, they are missing out on a group of knowledgeable, passionate and loyal softball fans that discuss these ladies with a great deal of love, respect and admiration win or loose.
I totally agree, the ticket prices should only go up with inflation but there should be a booster fee per seat. I have two tickets in the diamond deck and the booster fee per seat is $ 950.00 Softball plays about the same amount of games as baseball so I see no reason on earth why there should not be a $ 500.00 booster fee on every seat/ticket for softball. With a booster fee added, those people that have 4-6-8 tickets and only show up for "Big" games/series will think twice before renewing all those seats if it costs $ 800.00/$900.00 per seat per year. Or They will put more of those seats up on the resale market - the resale market is real for softball, I know with 100% certainty that people are making bank reselling softball tickets. Either way, there would be more tickets available for people to catch a couple of games.
I’m sure the ticket office can verify how many times per season a season ticket holder actually scans their ticket. IMO, if they are not using at least 70% of their tickets per season, they should not have the ability to renew before the general public gets a chance to buy. I feel like something like this would get those seats filled much more often.
I agree. If you can’t make a game, sell the tickets, give them to a friend or turn them in to the ticket office for redistribution.
Reading your own news clippings is bad business. I’d argue following forum fodder is even worse. Focus should be on ignoring this kind of stuff, not embracing it. They can join us in the looney bin when their playing/coaching days are over.
I sell my tickets in Section 102 just above the real cost for me to cover the Venmo processing fee. I never have a problem selling my tickets and my seats always have real Gator fans sitting in them. Selling tickets to softball is not an issue.
The tickets are easy to sell. There are many Gator forums, just go to one and tell them that you can't make a game or series. You will have them sold within minutes. That's my experience. None of my tickets ever go wasted. There is always someone who wants to go to a Gator softball game. Again, I sell them at cost with a Venmo add-on to cover the transaction for me. The buyer is always willing to pay the extra 1-2%.
There’s quite a few gators ticket pages on fb too. Don’t see a ton of softball tix there, but there’s not a ton available. Even giving them aways for free is better than letting them go to waste. Always nice for someone to be able to take a kid that couldn’t normally afford to go. Like you said, with just a little effort, you can likely get your money back easily though.
FYI, I just checked stubhub for softball tickets and they are selling two on the berm for $154.00 each. The same ticket available for $5.00 at the gator ticket office.
Screenshot that and send it in an email to the Gator ticket office. Maybe they can cancel those tickets and reissue them at $5.00 each as scalping of UF tickets is against the rules.
And that’s why we should be respectful and behave. Also being respectful and nice is well, just nice. If kindness and respect was the default human setting I’d bet the world would be a better place.
I would guess the SEC teams to beat would be OK, TENn and TX. Here is a look roster turn over: Team. UF. OK. TX. TENN ‘24 Roster Count. 18. 21. 21. 25 Less Sr. & Grads. 6. 10. 5. 6 Less Trans Out. 1. 3. 1. 2 =Carryover to 25. 11. 8. 15. 15 Plus New Freshmen. 5. 8. 2. 6 Plus Transsfers In. 3. 5. 3. 4 =‘25 Roster Count. 19. 21. 20. 25 The count for UF treats AK47 as a transfer. Tx transfer in includes a Texas player not on last years roster. I don’t know if this tells us a lot. TX scares me as they will have a very mature team with only two freshmen. OK, I hope, may be in a rebuilding year with 13 new faces. TENN-watch out if they learn to be real champions. OK and TX schedules are tougher as they Play FL, TENN and each other whereas FL and TENN don’t play each other. Sorry for the alignment problem. I’ve tried several times bur for some reason it won’t line up.
It shows the absolute strength and depth of the 2025 Gator team that a 1st team All Pac-12 player and leadoff hitter for the Washington Huskies last year, will be hitting near or at the bottom of the Gator lineup. Solid player that we are fortunate to have for the upcoming season.
