How do researchers minimize bias? One way is by involving a number of inputs/sources. There are def human components associated w the BCS, but its rankings are far more objective than a singular poll or committee. I'm not necessarily making a case for the BCS, just adding context. One of the issues with the BCS would be the potential for repeat matchups. Imagine GA/TX in the first round of the playoff, due to a computerized ranking system.
