11 days from now. I assume our team will begin practices today? And shouldn’t this force our players who are graduating/leaving to immediately declare if they will play?
It’s all perception. A four game win streak to end the season is a good talking point considering our schedule and Billy’s perceived turnaround. I wouldn’t be surprised if they moved us up.
I’m happy that it’s in Tampa and Tulane is a decent name that has played in some big games this season and previous seasons. Plus they use to be the SEC a long time ago. Go Gators!
Yep, they're under no obligation to publicly opt in and out. As long as the coach knows, that's all that really matters. Would not be surprised if they're conducting exit interviews already. That is important right now too as we'll need to see exactly who's staying and who's going so we can finish out the recruiting class and hit the portal.
Watched a replay of the Army & Tulane game last night. Army ran all over T. Gators should be able to hang a half a hundred easy.
Agree, but if someone is staying for the bowl, I’m pretty sure they would announce it (like Badger and Cam have done.)
If you are a senior and are not one of the sure fire top 15 picks or so, every piece of game film you can put down is like another audition. It can only help your draft status. If you as a player are good with being a 3rd or 4th round pick and are worried about getting hurt, then take the game off. Just like anything, life is a gamble and you either bet on yourself or not.
That nonsense came from me. I googled bowl invites yesterday and it popped up looking like it was the invite, not a projection. My bad.
Sure would help if BCD, Trikweze and Chemire Agree, but I would feel a lot better about this bowl game knowing BCD, Trikweze and Chimere are playing…
First time I saw this happen was with Anthony Richardson. He practiced with the team during I think the bowl game vs. Virginia. High school grads that early entry are allowed to practice but not play.
Does army still run a ton of option type football/running plays? If so, most teams have a difficult time stopping it as it is completely different than what anyone runs. I wouldn’t put too much stock into that defensive performance if that is the case.
I still think we will run on them easily. My only concern is that they have scored over 50 twice, over 70 once and their other games seem to score between 35 and 45… Have no idea if that is mostly ground or air, but if they pick on our depleted secondary, they could make this is a high scoring game.
We're not anywhere near as gap sound and disciplined as Army...but we'll see. Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl Tulane vs. Florida Raymond James Stadium (Tampa, Florida) 3:30 p.m., ESPN Florida players and fans normally wouldn't be excited about a non-CFP bowl in mid-December, but the program's heartening finish under coach Billy Napier, coupled with a good recruiting push, has improved the vibes significantly. A really exciting quarterback matchup between Florida's DJ Lagway and Tulane's Darian Mensah took a hit as Mensah is reportedly set to enter the transfer portal. Tulane's late-season struggles against improved competition (Memphis, Army) are concerning, too, especially with Florida's defense allowing only 44 total points in its final three games. Give me the Gators. Prediction: Florida 31, Tulane 17
