We’re a 7-5 team. While I would have loved to have been selected for a better bowl, we are where we should be based on our record this year. We won our last three games of which most would have not given us a chance in hell to even compete. After several years we’re bowl eligible and we have the chance to finish strong. I’m choosing to look at this as a positive. Onward and upward from here. Go Gators!
Suwanne was unavailable. Hey, I wanted Ga Tech but we're a couple years and a competent play-calling coach away from beating them.
Probably a bunch of Gator fans showing up. Not sure about Tulane. It may be 1/2 - 2/3 full. We shall see.
Tulane is a private school in New Orleans with about 7,000 undergrads, 60% female. I don't know how ticket sales will be but expect a 10 to 1 ratio or better for Gators I'm guessing. Them losing their last 2 and getting annihilated by Army in their conference championship probably means not a lot of jazzed fans.
Was hoping for a little better bowl but we are in Florida against a team we can beat IF we are ready to play. The earlier date takes a few practices away but it also allows our players and staff a little more time for family at Christmas. We need to keep old man Mo moving along. Need to be motivated and don’t let the Greenies sneak up on us. Hopefully next year we will be one of the chosen 12.
Are you saying that it's gotten to the point now where players who are coming back next year, that is, not graduating or waiting for the draft, can refuse to play if they don't want to? And they can still come back?
I would hope the seniors and the ones leaving for the draft want to play one more game in a Gator uniform. It's just my opinion based on what we've seen in the portal and NIL years recently.
Reckon when Bama got left out, it pushed us down a bowl. Went to the Gasparillo the last time we played. Thoroughly miserable performance in midst of coaching change with loss to UCF.
7-5 in the SEC with the 2nd hardest schedule in the nation... is equal to a 9-3 team in most other conferences.
Tulane has lost to Kansas State, Oklahoma, Memphis and Army. The closest thing to a "signature win" I can see on their schedule is 45-10 over USF... While many of us are not excited about this game, lets take it as an opportunity to RUTS, impress players in the transfer portal and continue the momentum we are riding into next season...
