Yes, but Biden's pardoning of Hunter wasn't necessary for Trump to rightfully pardon the Jan 6 defendants. Even if you take the DNC viewpoint that all of these folks were the worst unpatriotic, disloyal criminals, Trump pardoning them would not be without precedent. Thousands of Confederate soldiers and generals were pardoned. In fact, by not pardoning the Jan 6'ers, it goes against what America has stood for in the past and such a stand was with success and progress as a result.

Newsflash: Trump didn't need Biden to pardon Hunter in order to pardon the Jan6 insurrectionists. It's nothing but a cheap justification to pardon people who committed actual crimes of VIOLENCE against the US. Trump was threatening to do this well before Hunter's pardon.

    Be better than this, OP.

What a novel suggestion that poster seems to support: All crimes are equal. Might want to think about that bulltrump before you say it.

all crimes are not equal- Hunter was pardoned so joey’s treasonous crimes could be covered up. Trumps’ supposed crimes are all contrived by dems who weaponized the justice dept to try and keep him from running again- and yes I truly believe that- really worked out well for you didn’t it

Trump more or less stated months ago that if elected he would pardon the J6 insurgents or as he referred to them multiple times as the January 6 "hostages". The pardon of Hunter may be provide Trump with additional rationalization but it in no way affected his decision to do what he was going to do anyway.

Joey's "treasonous crimes"? Please elaborate. The right-wing media and more than one committee of the Republican-controlled House of Representatives has been searching for crimes by Biden for years and so far they have found absolutely nothing. Trump's crimes were real. He was indicted by grand juries in Washington, DC and Miami which found probable evidence that he had committed multiple crimes. His sorry ass was saved by a Supreme Court which decided that as King he was above the law and the election which both cloaked him with immunity from prosecution while he was in office and will give him control of the DOJ enabling him to make the cases against him go away. I also wouldn't be surprised if he tries further protect himself through a self-pardon or maybe even resign just before the very end of his term so that J.D. Vance as president could pardon him.

So what’s your take of Jan 6? Any crimes committed there? Should those people be pardoned? Any responsibility for Trump’s speech that lead to the event?

    Bottom of a pint glass
The whitewashing of 1/6, the fake electors, and the attempt to overthrow an election continue to cheered on by "patriots". They have zero shame

MAGA should stop the claim “Backing the Blue”. Pardoning individuals tha5 attacked and beat men & women LEO for hours on January 6th is a contradiction of that claim.

To their credit MAGA did stop the whole “family values” thing once they aligned their moral compass with Dear Leader. They also stopped their push for abortion bans after Dear Leader shifted focus. Did he propose further restrictions? Was it even mentioned at the RNC? Is he pushing for them now? Just today, he said “….the answer is no,” when asked about banning abortion pills. Meanwhile, abortion rates in the U.S. remain just as numerous and we hear little from maga.

Unfortunately, the Trump administration will use the worst actions of others as a justification for their own. It’s the same logic of, “See? The adults are doing it, so we can too.” Would be interesting if other authoritarians & despots used this strategy.

    LOL.

Penalty for first degree murder: Death penalty
Penalty for petit theft 2nd degree: 60 days in jail and/or $500 fine.

All crimes most definitely are not created equal.

    LOL

So why do you think people should be pardoned for assaulting police officers, often with weapons, destruction of property, etc.? And why did you need a pardon for a different crime to justify it? And to whom are you justifying it?

Let's follow your logic here. Please explain how pardoning him, making him not eligible for the fifth amendment protection for any activity during those years, covers up crimes that you allege occured then.

Sweet. I think you could knock off a few GOP congressmen, drag the trial out a few years, get the next Dem President to pardon you and magically it’s open season on politicians with little jail time. Just need to murder on Federal Land. Don’t want the State to get ya. Can’t wait!

Interesting, I saw the op and thought ‘a 2nd thread on the exact subject of Biden’s pardon.?’
But then saw the article headline…..

Trump vows to pardon Jan. 6 rioters on day one after getting into office”

Even the op’er realizes it’s so egregious therefore try to spin it to something else.

It's a fascinating time we're in when you can put clear evidence of crime in front of someone and they either deny what it is, deny It's true, or find it funny.

    Here, let's watch it happen again;

"All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won this state, and flipping the state is a great testament to the country," Trump said. "I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break." "It's just not possible to have lost Georgia. It's not possible," Trump said.

    Winner, winner!

Confronted with obvious criminality; ignores it and sees "whining" which doesn't exist because I knew she'd lose and I'm not the least bit surprised by it. :)
