I stand by every word. The only laughingstock was the way the roster was used and how UF closed the regular season.

If you bothered to read much at all, you'd know I have been big time in support of Mary Wise and the team. I just didn't excuse them for the regular season finish. You don't like it, tough.

Good Lord people, stop arguing for a few days and enjoy this gritty win against a very good team... On the road!
With a sell out crowd of Jayhawks!
(Good for that program, and congratulations on a great year)

Just seeing Alexis big smile and pounding the court at the end was so fantastic. This group has battled all year and Stanford needs to play there best to beat us :)

So ecstatic for our University to be represented by this group!!
    Go Gators!!

The points ETgator made were spot on. I for one think the Rothe experiment at OH was worth a try being as they were without AC and obviously Hardin was not up to the task, it should be noted the she played RS pretty damn well in Kennedys absence so there is precedent. I would also add why do you so very knowledgeable people about everything always go to ridicule and insults? Why do you think they won the Kansas match? After set1, Kennedy had 3 times the swings as the next nearest player. She usually has twice as many as the highest OH and 3x the MBs. After set 2 it was continuing and then the service bug started biting. Stucky did also set Kennedy quite a bit but there was distribution closer to what our norm is and I Mart starting picking up better so maybe that connection is something to look at. And finally there was the nail biter set 5. I think Rothe had 3 kills in a 15 pt set. Her presence and attitude are key, her connection seems better with Alexis, Auguste and Kennedy seem to roll no matter who is setting them. And there is no denying Alexis creates a feeling that you can see on the court. I am still willing to lose a few points with Stucky on defense because I think there are more positives to balance out and I also think Rothe has to be in the mix for success. The revolving door of rotations is what actually produces inconsistent play.i am not remembering any teams this late in the season still trying to figure out who their setter and middles are. That was a gut check win, very glad they pulled it out and did not give the performance of the last 2 regular season games which didn't have much participation by the 2 players mentioned in that post making ETgator a "laughing stock."

I think the only comment i made that could be considered dumb was Rothe scoring...i was watching on a cell phone in a car so couldn't quite see sometimes. That being said, geez! I defended a comment made by someone and then they ridicule me for defending them. Some of you imagine a couple of posters as one imposter poster, I imagine most of you as sitting in a basement wearing sweet pants and trying to remember when you had an actual life back in the 60s. Some of you should really consider how grumpy and negative and unapproachable you are to differences of opinion.

As I suspected, SEC was undervalued nationally. That should cause some concern in the Stanford camp.
As for the Gators going forward... don't count out any team that has Kennedy Martin and Alexis Stucky on its roster. It's a sight to see when those two get rolling.

Please stop with name calling..we are all Gators here and want them to succeed...we don't always agree on decisions coaches make or how players execute..let just agree to disagree in a civil manner.
    Thanks and Go Gators!
I am excited about our advancement to Sweet 16!

Putting aside the vitriol (which seems unusual for this forum).......

    Stuckey starts against Stanford, right???

I kinda wonder whether there is something we don't know with Stuckey being out for many games down the stretch. All Gator athletics never discuss injuries and volleyball is no exception. If she's still experiencing some pain and there is a concern, then props to UF for taking the safe road and limiting her playing time. Some fans have said it was a strategic decision based on her defense -- which is a reasonable guess -- but given her ability to involve more of the offense it just leads to a question whether the decision wasn't made based on her rehabilitation. And if its rehabilitation related, then the transfer portal talk is off base, which would be good.

And we often talk of the "UF way."

It wasn't mentioned on the broadcast, but UF spent 10's of thousands of dollars to fly our pep band out to Kansas and put them up in a hotel, meals, etc. What a classy gesture by UF and great reward for the band. Especially since volleyball is not a revenue sport, it really shows the UF way.

Thanks! I could only follow the gamecast stats live, so I went to YouTube and watched the 5th set. That was some competitive volleyball!

Playing Stanford is always a tough match-up. But we aren't playing them in their gym.

If you have not, take a look at Pitt-Ok. Tied at 24 in first set.
