One of the cooler traditions in college sports. I think it’s the last game before finals where the fans stay silent until they get to 10 points, then this happens.
Yeah, they've got perhaps the coolest sports tradition in the world in 'Silent Night.' Gotta love it.
Pretty sure that's part of it too. They just take the T and move on, the tradition is way bigger than that. It's eerie just watching the video and would be one of those things that would be way cool in person.
FSU's football fans would probably do this if they got to 22 points in any game this year...assuming any were left to storm the field when it happened.
A few days before Thanksgiving I was going to my local Publix wearing a Gator shirt. A guy wearing FSU garb and his friend saw me and the guy in FSU garb said to me "Game on Saturday." I replied back "FSU still has a football team?" The FSU guy's friend just said "Burn".
I loved the good old days when the student section (well before the Rowdies) would pretend to read the Alligator during the opposing team's introduction. And then when it was done they would crumple the newspaper and throw it on the floor. That was cool. Now it would be a T. Would it be worth it for the UT game this year? It might jump start the geezers and get the whatever it is called now Dome ROCKING from the tip-off. Won't happen because the Rowdy Reptiles weren't even born then with the possible exception of the guy in a suit that has a sign with a gator on one side and a moose on the other.
Reminds me of the stunt Ga pulled one year with Richt; payback was sent the following year. Never heard of Taylor until this post.
