You doubled and tripled down on that argument like this was the '06 or '08 Gator squad we're talking about. Nobody in the country expected UF/CBN to win those games, let alone 7 and a possible 8th. Especially under the circumstances we played under. I know you're typically not a neg poster so I was taken aback tbh, but downplaying big wins vs SEC teams when we're the underdog just rubbed me wrong. I just want UF as well back in the NC convo as much as everyone else, but sadly UF has a MUCH harder path than a huge majority of the colleges in front of us.
I wasn’t downplaying the wins against LSU and Ole Miss. Just the ones against teams with losing records. They should win those simply because of the talent gap alone. I’ll give credit and say they didn’t the last two seasons so that’s a plus, but they were still not very good teams.
Technically neither is UF. They're still very flawed, very young, and very injury prone. Buutttt.... I have a feeling if we played UM & TAMU at the end of the season as well CBN probably wins 1 or both of those games. Also could/should have won the UT/ug games under better circumstances.

You don't think we'd beat either UM or TAMU, especially how bad um was playing at the end of the season losing 2/3? The vols did this EVERY year for years, saying it once is now correlation to "volsheimers"? lol
You cannot deny the fact that last year we were the ONLY team with a comparable talent profile to have a losing season and not make a bowl. And CBN has more losses than any team with a similar talent profile/blue chip rating… those are facts. He’s been underwhelming on Saturdays. Real good everywhere else but there. But we seemed to at least flip a switch after that early bye week on defense and we got Lagway… and built some confidence… so maybe we have a Daboesque turnaround/ he was pretty bad his 1st couple years… idk? I’m not lookin fwd to getting my hopes up only to watch that offensive playcalling again but nothing I can do
Did I say that?...and his class was just fine. It basically identical to the 6th-10th (subjectively)ranked classes. And throw what out? I started this thread because I assumed he was about to be fired and I was here for it. He has flipped me like an FSU recruit.
it was funny but also usually true when the Vols said it though. 2001 was a prime example. One of the biggest what ifs in Florida football history

The discussion was going from 50's to 11. That has 0 to do with Mullen, hence my response. I gave up on his departure, but I won't lose sight of what should be expected of him. I've never been one to pat someone on the back for average performance. Heck I'd argue because of Lagway last years class will likely still be more impactful in the long haul than this year's.
This is a great discussion. Lots of good points made all around and little thin-skinnedness. BZ, folks. We can’t make the whole world better but we can do our part to try and it always starts with right where we are.

We’re out there pretty much every afternoon/evening, but just got off a cruise yesterday so just hanging on the couch unfortunately watching Georgia stumble to another SEC Championship. Lagway is why this years will be impactful and why the portal will probably go well. But Billy gets that credit, just like Urban does for Tebow bringing a lot of guys with him.
