(VB) Ongoing Volleyball Thread

The ladies played great today.

Now it gets real.

 

You yourself called UF volleyball a laughingstock for their recent play and said the coaches cost UF a chance to host, are wrong for not playing Stuckey, and haven't "turned the corner" with Laurin Hardin.

If you really believe what you say, why would you be upset that someone raises the possibility that some of UF's better players would leave such a situation - especially when that's exactly what's been happening for the past several years?

 

Glad to see AC back as we definitely have no chance at Kansas given how serve receive has been without her. Service errors way below average too but I'm not sure if they just didn't feel the need for hard service as much as just getting in play because it should have played out exactly as it did . Still at a loss why Rothe is in the dog house, she wasn't really getting any more or less production with her attacks than Thomas but I felt like her defense was better.

 

Rothe has not played well the last couple of games and looks like she's lost some confidence. I still trust in Coach Wise to know her players and what's best for the team.

 

Kansas beat Colgate 3-0, so the Gators will face them at 7:30 Saturday, on ESPN+

 

No Rothe or Harden. They must be transferring with Stucky and Hutson. Oh and McMillan wants no part of loser UF.

#7 seed Mizzou just beat #2 seed SMU today. One of your better programs just bit the dust.

 

Some information about Kansas - They're 25-4, 15-3 in the Big 12. They beat South Carolina 3-0 in their first match of the season. They have a win over #24 Marquette, who beat Utah last night to advance to the Sweet 16. They beat #6 Purdue 3-1, beat UCF twice and have wins over #21 Utah, #17 Baylor and #18 TCU. Their only losses are to #9 Creighton, #11 Arizona State, Arizona and BYU. They hit at .283, opponents .195. Their senior setter Camryn Turner averages 11.42 assists per set and they have 4 players averaging over 2 kills per set - Ayah Elnady, Sr. OH at 3.26, London Davis, Sr. OPP at 2.69, Toyosi Onabanjo SR MB at 2.61 and Caroline Bien, Sr OH/L at 2.53. Turner, Elnady and Onabanjo were named 1st team all conference this year and 6'3" MB Reese Ptacek was named Big 12 freshman of the year. Their coach, Ray Bechard, is in his 27th year at Kansas, with 12 NCAA tournaments and 5 times Big 12 COY. This is going to be a tough match, but if the Gatprs play up to their potential, they should win.

 

The difference is I'm not calling out poor play 100% of the time like you and others along with making proclamations about transfers that I know nothing about. I said my view and moved on.

Unless you have inside information, you should move on too. I doubt you do so just cut the crap.

Last, who transferred out after the 2023 season? Who decommitted and didn't show up?

 

Hope the Gators take down Kansas. UF seems to always play Stanford tough.

 

Until we KNOW what's going on with any player, vis-a-vis transferring, please stop with the negativity.... Mary Wise has grown this program and it's still a great one!!

I'll be an Alexis Stucky fan for her positive mark and athletic accomplishments she has been/made for the University. I'm thankful she is a Gator!! She deserves to not be ridiculed or gossiped about on this board. She's an amazing human being, be positive for that!

Alexis Stuckey payed setter the 3rd set and seemed to give them a spark. 16 assists, a service ace, 5 digs and a block.
