I was watching Jaden Baugh run on the FSU GNFP and it hit me like a hammer. Baugh is errict Rhett reincarnated. He moves so much like him and has the same patience. Every carry gets the maximum yardage and he’s great on YAC (yards after contact). In the video, he turned sideways and all I could see was the number 3. It could have been a video from 1991. I bet errict really appreciates the way he runs.

But Eric Rhett is alive and presumably well.

Joking aside, which Gator RBs have been so good as a true FR, Emmitt? Talk about a recruiting find.

Except, I believe that Rhett's longest run as a Gator was only about 25 yards. I remeber Rhett being more of downhill, first level, always getting positive yardage type of back. I think that the ceiling is much higher for Baugh.

I remember him always getting us positive tough yards but like you don't recall any long runs. I also don't remember us passing much to him. I remember every time he scored he would pop up and do that weird fraternity gesture - making horns with his hands.

He's much faster and more elusive than Rhett. Spurrier commented one time that he'd never seen a RB run into the back of his lineman as much as Rhett.

Are you kidding me? He’s only our all time leading rusher. Florida Gators Rushing | College Football at Sports-Reference.com
“Running into the back of guys” is what good backs do to “feel” the hole being set up.

Baugh has that rare combination of vision, patience, power, quickness although not top end speed. He always seems to go forward no matter what. Emmit excelled at this too just adjusting his body to avoid the full contact and get a few extra yards.

I wouldn’t call Percy a true running back. Great player but more of a specialist. His strength was amazing for a “receiver “.

At 230+ pounds, Baugh is out there outrunning DB's. Dude has so much potential.
Baugh is not slow by any means:

Never seen a back "split a seam" like Percy. His 10-20 yard burst was something.....lightening, he's my top pick

Yes, I would agree he has a bit more speed than Rhett had. One of the things that made Rhett special was his durability. Hopefully, Baugh will share that trait.

I love Errict Rhett, one of my favorite Gators, named one of my pets after him. I see Jaden Baugh as more Fred Taylor Made-esque though.

Yeah, I remember him catching a gazillion passes about five yards downfield, right over the middle. Frankly, I don't see the comprison to Baugh. To each his own, though. Given his size, he looks more like a Ciatrick Fason to me. Rhett was a warrior and one of those guys that you give the ball to all game long, not every three series. Dude was a workhorse and ran with violence. Baugh is more of a smooth, patient runner like a LeVeon Bell. Kid is going to be stud for us the next two years.

    Thanks.

And Fred did this against really stout defenses.

Both bigger and faster with the same tenacious, unstoppable attitude. Same tried and true badassedness though.

Good comparison. I would say Baugh has a little bit better of that little slide cut and rhett is a little more rugged and like tackling a mountain goat
