The Tesla shareholders approved the plan. Basically, if the value increased to a certain level, Musk earned a bonus, if it didn't reach that level he got $0. It seems to me he more than earned the compensation.

I don't know. That's still years away. On Oct 10, Tesla had an exhibition of a prototype robotaxi. Investors were so impressed TSLA stock dropped more than 8% the next day. But yeah, the recent rise in TSLA is based on the favoritism it is expected to receive from the Trump admin.
How is this sole sourcing? NASA cost is so much higher so why would you pick them when there are cheaper options that can get the job done?
There are 4 options for NASA in sending astronauts to space. Do it themselves, but they have no viable options for that right now. Boeing and the last attempt they had left their astronauts stranded on the ISS and they are still there. Pay billions to the Russians to do it. SpaceX where it is both cheaper and has a better record than any of the other choices.
